Remind me again why he didn’t want Kelly and Shannon to stay with her mom while he was deployed? I get that it was their life together but I mean….he could’ve gone back to get them when he was stateside…sucks Shannon never had the chance to have a relationship with Anne because she was already gone by the time Gibbs grew up. That episode when his mother in law kills her soon to be fiancé, there is a flashback showing her pleading with Gibbs to let Shannon and Kelly stay with her until he got back. She was begging him to not take them away. I could be remembering this incorrectly but i really think he did not want them to stay. And that part broke my heart because I understand that was his wife and child but he was a marine sniper in the middle of one the most dangerous war zones. Anything could’ve happened to him and his wife and child would had no one nearby to be there for them. I felt like his mother in law blamed Gibbs for their death. And not that it was his fault, it wasn’t. It is however sad that at that time he allowed pride to get in the way of the relationship between him and his mother in law.
