I mean, all things considered, if Metastasis existed on its own and in a vacuum, it wouldn’t be all that bad. It tells the same story with the same beats, and the actors do a fine enough job working their way through it. But, damn, it makes you appreciate the absolute masterclass every element of the Breaking Bad put on. Direction, photography, writing, acting, music, grading and editing - all damn near perfect. It’s very, very rare you get a show where each element is executed almost perfectly, and that’s where Breaking Bad distinguishes itself. The acting in particular is just phenomenally done. Like I said, Metastasis does a fine job. But Breaking Bad … every casting choice, every vocal inflection, cadence, every movement … spot on. All around. It’s a masterclass acting performance from just about everyone involved.

Metastasis Tuco doesn’t feel intimidating at all. That’s crazy considering Demian Alcazar is one of Mexico’s premier actors. I’m sure if the series would’ve been made by the team that made Señor Avila (a Mexican series starring Tony Dalton, who played Lalo Salamanca), Alcazar and everybody else would’ve done a great job.

For those who want an analog compararion of the twins in both series, go watch an early episode of bleach and look at ishida. You then go see how ishida looks in the live action movie. You’ll see.
