Just came back to this as the music was playing in the opening scene of S2 Homecoming ep 6. Said to my husband that's Orange Juice. Absolutely love this scene in Brassed Off and loved Pete Postlethwaite. Met him once when he was filming on my street, a truly lovely man and outstanding actor

One of the finest brass band renditions I've ever heard. I could listen to this type of music for hours. I was a trombonist and have a special love for brass.

Pete as a conductor is one of the few actors who looks like he really hears the music and conveys its emotion to the musicians. His performance deepens the scene profoundly.
