Can you tell me please if this track is available on CD? I haven’t been able to find it. I love to hear Skipinnish playing Gaelic waltzes and airs.
@thelosthighlander3373 Жыл бұрын
This was from their very first albums LIVER FROM THE CEILIDH HOUSE, but there few Waltzes and airs in their first albums such as Sgurr Mor To Skerryvore, The Sound Of The Summer, The Wedding Dance and Ceilidh Show, Celebrating Highland Music, the more traditional ones

@@patiolis My pleasure, I love them as well .... they took Runrig's place in my heart!
@patiolis Жыл бұрын
@@thelosthighlander3373 Me too! I have most of Runrig’ cd’s from the Donnie Munro era, but lost some interest when he left. Only recently and after his death have I begun to appreciate what a fine replacement Bruce Guthro was. Skipinnish have replaced Runrig as my favourite band too, especially with Norrie as the lead singer and in particular their songs featuring Rachel Walker. Gaelic Waltz tracks will always remain my particular favourites though. Regards and best wishes to you!
@thelosthighlander3373 Жыл бұрын
@@patiolis pretty funny as I also think Donnie was Runrig, some songs were and still are Donnie's ... but I agree Bruce Guthro did a great job with the band.

This song is brilliant! Robert Robertsons voice is the main reason I enjoyed Skipinnish. The views are brilliant! Not one location, scattered about. Recognise the cross at Luss,also the castle for Highlander. Sorry can't spell it. There was also a ruined castle which I think is on the way to Oban

'Saor Alba!' will only happen if the Scots don't bottle it the next time. As an an Irish person who has been a citizen of an independent country for slightly more than half the state's existence, my only advice is that independence is hard work, but well worth it. The nonsense happening in the UK over the last couple of decades, and Brixit, is strong evidence that Irish independence was a bloody wise decision! I shudder to think what condition we'd be in, were we still ruled from Westminster....

I'm working here in Glasgow and I've got a decent job I'm playing tunes and 'dramming' with the West Coast's finest malt I wake up in the morning and a curer I do seek And by the time the night has come it's the middle of next week! Hello Dòmhnall 'ic Sheumais, you'll hear the people cry Hello Dòmhnall 'ic Sheumais, renowned from Mull to Skye You're a decent boy from the Hebrides and no one can deny You're a hair-um, scare-um, devil may care-um, rowdy Island boy The day I left my island 't was many years ago I left my home in Scarinish where the fields of silage grow And since I left my island it's always been my plan To let the people see that I'm a decent island Man Hello Dòmhnall 'ic Sheumais, you'll hear the people cry Hello Dòmhnall 'ic Sheumais, renowned from Mull to Skye You're a decent boy from the Hebrides and no one can deny You're a hair-um, scare-um, devil may care-um, rowdy Island boy When I came to Glasgow, on a quest I did embark I spent my hours in the Snaffle, the Islay and the Park But now I'm getting older And I'm weary of the drink And think it's just about the time to find the missing link! Hello Dòmhnall 'ic Sheumais, you'll hear the people cry Hello Dòmhnall 'ic Sheumais, renowned from Mull to Skye You're a decent boy from the Hebrides and no one can deny You're a hair-um, scare-um, devil may care-um, rowdy Island boy And if there's one among you that would like to marry me, I'll take you to my little home, a bothan by the sea, I'll kit you out with welly-boots and please you all I can, To let the locals see that I'm a decent Island Man! Hello Dòmhnall 'ic Sheumais, you'll hear the people cry Hello Dòmhnall 'ic Sheumais, renowned from Mull to Skye You're a decent boy from the Hebrides and no one can deny You're a hair-um, scare-um, devil may care-um, rowdy Island boy Hello Dòmhnall 'ic Sheumais, you'll hear the people cry Hello Dòmhnall 'ic Sheumais, renowned from Mull to Skye You're a decent boy from the Hebrides and no one can deny You're a hair-um, scare-um, devil may care-um, rowdy Island boy Hello Dòmhnall 'ic Sheumais, you'll hear the people cry Hello Dòmhnall 'ic Sheumais, renowned from Mull to Skye You're a decent boy from the Hebrides and no one can deny You're a hair-um, scare-um, devil may care-um, rowdy Island boy You're a hair-um, scare-um, devil may care-um, rowdy Island boy You're a hair-um, scare-um, devil may care-um, west coast Island boy
