Thanks for the suggestions. Hopefully I can get out to play them all. I'm looking forward to spend my first New Years in Japan, and to play some golf.

I played in the Saitama/Gunma area last year in February and March. Damon helped me book some Tee times and it worked out fantastic. I'll be back for my yearly visit again from January thru March and looking forward to your help again. Winter golf in Saitama/Gunma is better than winter golf in Ohio. Thanks for this great service.

"Winter golf in Saitama/Gunma is better than winter golf in Ohio." Hahah, thanks for putting things into perspective, Brian! BTW, your comments have come up in our recent podcast which we'll publish very soon. We're super grateful for your support!

What is the lead waiting time to order a custom made Mizuno Pro 245 irons?
@Golf-in-Japan-com2 ай бұрын
Mizuno is quite fast, they can get them back in about 3~5 days. Unfortunately they cannot ship them overseas. Which makes it tough for a short vacation. But if you come in right away, it's possible to have them before you fly home. But they also have many variations in-stock with minor adjustments done in-shop.

Hit an iron instead of a driver. Winner! There tour pros are poor wee souls.

So if all the pros are "resigned to the same shot" due to the rough being long, when they miss a fairway, there's an equal penalty for having missed a fairway. Hitting fairways more important than extra 30-50 yards; golf, yes? The variability missing in "the hackout" manifests in tee-shot club and shape chosen by players. Golf, yes? Personally, o.k. with this.
@bensonrufus46653 ай бұрын
Eric I think you miss the point. The hackout is played if you miss the fairway by 1 yard or 50 yards. That’s unfair. Maybe graduated rough is a better idea? He also talks about the long rough not being a great spectacle for the patrons. I also heard the professionals lost balls during the event, even though they had adequate spotters.
@Eric-tj3tg3 ай бұрын
@@bensonrufus4665 I hear you. I simply, as an amateur who, playing-wise, definitely prefers your graduated rough for myself, disagree. If you're 1 or 50 off fairway, you've missed it, and the rough is the penalty, you'll need to punch out. The decision and variation, as said, is choosing how to play off the tee. As pros, they can hit a fairway using less than driver, and off the deck hit GIR's from further back without problems. As far as having lost balls in the rough with adequate assistance, gonna go on a limb and say there was NOT enough helpers if the balls were lost in the rough, by definition. Agree to disagree, but get your take, so don't feel I'm missing THE point.
