Found this by mistake. Am 66, lived in Mendota until 1974, what a very inspiring story. Mendota always been a poor city, I give these kids blessing as it looks like Mendota has grown to a city of HEART. Never hold your dreams, I worked in the feilds, and worked my way out, anyone CAN...

These college coaches don't know the good players from Mendota or from any small community you have to send your part. Hopefully he got recruited. I would like to see a Mexican rb someday in the nfl representing us.

For those questioning on why the sierra coach said, " I hope you take pride in that, that was classless." What I heard from a valid source, but don't quote me I don't know for certain, as Mendota was blowing sierra out the coach kept his starters in the whole game, and just ran up the score. I am from the valley on California, Mendota is about an Hour away from where I live in Sanger, watch our football highlights from d-ham productions, won't disappoint at all, this years 2016 valley champs, and we are very blue collar people, just like Mendota, except they have it harder than we do a little bit, same demographics, and hated by opposing teams because we are a bunch of different races who work 10 times harder and fight till the fourth quarter.

sorney98 Riley has been upgrading talent and plugging holes in the roster that he inherited, that was mismanaged terribly beforehand. Riley has actually beaten teams with winning records, unlike Bo who only won 1 game against a team with a winning record during his last stint in Lincoln in 2014. Nebraska over achieved this year with a roster that wasn't very talented or cohesive to Riley's style of play. Tommy will be gone and a new era begins. Next year we will see some great offensive play and better defense. The defense this year was the best it has been since 2010.

Chanticleer the Rooster this years defense was horrible, if they were as good as the 2010 defense then why they allow 62 to Ohio State and 40 to Iowa. Those game should of been closer then. If Riley is such a good recruiter, and coach why didn't Nebraska win the west? A drop back QB will not work at Nebraska. Last QB to have success was Zac Taylor, and Joe Ganz. I predict that after the 2018 season we will be looking for a new head coach again because 2018 is the toughest schedule I have ever seen in a long time. Riley will be lucky to get bowl eligible with that schedule
