What caused, what was good, to fall apart? My best years in TRINI were 1950-1955;from 1955-1970 we lived in gated communities that were sterile metropolitan UK hierarchical, inwardly looking based on the cultivation of a monoculture and I could only dream of the good life based in real COMMUNITY recorded in this evocative video.

Beautiful memories those were the time when children had respect and discipline those were really the golden years so just imagine how it was in our parents days. These kids has no idea what being a child is all about.. A time when the country was safe the only thing you was frighten about was the fair tales and pound hound dogs

As someone who was born in Dominica in the 1960s, I can vouch for the precious nature of this beautiful trip down memory lane. Sadly, our culture has been degraded by unethical and unkind behavior among the leadership and the led; too much crime and mischief in high and low places have disfigured the Caribbean we once knew. Time to reflect and recapture the good character traits that we once knew and which made us exemplary people.

Were any of these Victorian era wooden houses saved/ preserved or were they just demolished to build concrete buildings & parking lots or just left to rot?
