This is by far the BEST strawberry jam recipe in the world. So simple. So pure. And she even gives you all the old timer's tips like washing your berries before you cut, and a "pullet egg" of butter! This video is the best. I've made it twice now. It is honestly the best tasting jam I have ever had.

Hardy And Florence were my aunt and uncle. Eric is my baby cousin! We grew up together. I spent so many weekends on the Valhalla with my mom and my sisters at the islands of Boston Harbor - the best was always the yearly Outing where there were barrels of soda pop (tonic) for the taking and us kids were on a sugar high all day long. Eric and his brothers Hardy, Jimmy and Eddy will always be the brothers I never had and I couldn’t have survived childhood without them for so many reasons. I love them very much. I live in Florida now but always drive through the Yacht Club when I come home for a visit. A few years ago I ran into Johnny O’Donnell there, who knew my mom VERY well and we talked for quite a while about the old days. Great man. Last time I was on the Valhalla, she was right where this documentary left her, put up for winter, although it was 2 years ago and Eric’s brother Hardy was with me, it still felt great to sit up on her and remember the days of summer when I was a little girl. Thanks Eddy, for sending me this!

Hey Brian, thanks for posting this. Recently joined MiltonScene FB page, so I was wondering who this person MFD was. One suggestion: shorten the funny but curious first 2 minute long intro. The rest was amusing and informative.
@miltontalkofthetown7 жыл бұрын
MFD is Melissa Fassel Dunn. I agree that the intro is way too long! I have asked Milton Access to shorten it and hopefully that will be completed soon!

My Great Uncle James E Orr served aboard the Bennion and I believe I see him in a few of these pictures. I have a few pictures with him and his friends in my Photo albums that my Great Aunt Juanita gave to me :) I would love to find more pictres of him. [email protected]

I will make sure that when I make my next"first batch" (I've already made my 1st jar of Freezer Jam just like 5 minutes ago) of "real" jam, I follow your recipe! I love your tutorial the best out of ALL the videos I've seen...and I've watched A LOT before I started making the Freezer Jam. Thanks for sharing, Sheila! : )

I just made this and it was so easy! Yours is the first video that I have watched that I heard anyone say how much ingredients to add... My husband grandmother made this when she was with us but I never got the recipe and it was the only thing I wish I would have done. But after he tried I he said it tasted just like the kind his grandma made! Thanks so much!! Liz Porter. R.C. CA

These 3 videos are how I learned how to make jam. Last year was the first year I made jam, and man, did I get rave reviews. I wanted to thank you and your mother in law for taking the time to make this. I appreciate you passing this awesome information on to a generation who would not have learned this without your help. You are both awesome!

so you don't process them in the scanner for 10 minutes? you just jar them up and put on the lids?
@melissa101ify8 жыл бұрын
My sister does hers the same way. Except she turns the jars upside down. The heat from the jam seals the jars so no pressure cooker needed.

I have made this several times now and it's wonderful! I have done blueberry, peach, strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, and triple berry! It always comes out great... just remember with fruits with larger, more abundant seeds (such as raspberries and blackberries; fruit seeds contain natural pectin) you may not need to cook it as long for the thickness. Thanks so much for posting this!

I grew up with the original RCA Victor Red Seal recording of the "Many Moods of Christmas" (1963). I still own the LP and painstakingly transferred it to digital format on CD! I loved the beautiful orchestration by the renowned Robert Russell Bennett (who orchestrated most if not all of Richard Rodgers musical scores).
