Not enough rim tape… 3 layers is the minimum. Also you may have had your nipples too tight at the moment on the spikes to absorb that kind of impact, or they could have came loose either one would’ve shot them through those holes. They’re only covered by rim tape nothing else so you gotta get it wrapped tight and right with high quality rim tape. Such an underrated component of a bike in my opinion. Sometimes people think too much about making the wheel true and just keep tightening spokes instead of trying other methods like loosening some and tightening others. Looks like the rim held up fine, your spokes just didn’t

On my 00 gs300 I'm having a fully built ge vvti block but fully tapped for oil properly, wiseco pistons Manley rods, ARP mains, rod bolts, upgraded wrist pins, king bearings, fully machined blueprinted balanced etc being built right now. There's a company in Texas that doesn't a full 800hp built shortblock for only $5k, going to use my ge vvti but put in BC valves n retainers n bigger cams. Want to keep it around 650hp as my like kill mode on it maybe 700, but it'll be a drift/street car so I wana have a few maps for it for between 450-520hp on 93 n then on e85 have a 535 map, 575 map, 650 map, n possibly a like 715hp map
