By far my favorite keyboard. To this day I'm still using one. I was able to find some on eBay recently that were either brand new, very well restored or the best knock-offs I ever see. It was even in a completely sealed, original (I think?) box.

I thought both sender and receiver would blink the same sequence correct wiring or not. I just experince the receiver not blinking the same as the sender. I thested then run when I installed it and thought it fine and everything worked until a power outage. Now testing everything I cam e across this issue. If you're doing a job by yourself, this not blinking the same is a big pain in the ass.

Neophyte here. Did he use to different cables at same time? I thought the tester is for one cabke - plugging each side into the tester at same time?

I have an issue someone might be able to help me with. On my computer, in the KZbin search bar, predictive text/search options stopped working. Now, when I type in the KZbin search bar, rather than giving me a list of topic search options, it only shows what I’ve typed. The predictive search text works fine in incognito mode but stopped working in regular mode. Google help desk was no help whatsoever. I’ve logged off my account and logged back in with the same issue and have searched keyboard shortcuts without any luck. I hit the Ctrl button plus an unknown key that caused the initial problem I just can’t figure out which key to use in order to get it back working again.

Yes, I rab into this issue just now and walked back to the remote point and swapped the remote unit for the master. Now walking back to the server room. I found this video while walking to the remote point. Your comment validated my instinct.

If when the unit's power button , when switched to ON, the power light repeatedly flashes, what does that mean? Does it mean a weak battery? The power button remains flashing even with known good cable inserted.

Definitely mechanical but it has to be Alps switches or IBM Model M. Cherry MX are not as good that why people in the comments like chiclet more. What a let down from Cherry as they are not best represent to mechanical keyboard

What if on the master, only lights 5-8 light up regardless of which end of the cable is plugged in? The remote shows all lights 1-8 will light in sequence.

The only reason they are quite is because they barely push any air

I have a tester just like that and I came to your video to figure out how to use it. Well when I go to turn it on, the light on the left side indicating power just flashes and none of the other lights light up, even if I plug a known good cable into it. So does that mean my tester is bad or do I need a better battery for it?

Why do you not dip the second wire in the flux? I'd have thought that would allow the solder to flow more easily. I recently saw a video in which they only partly removed the insulation and used that to twist the wires together. It did seem to give a better result, without the odd rogue strand sticking out.

I plugged in my cable that I put a switch in between and it didn't light up on number 2 on the tester but it did when I switched it back on on my fitted on off switch. So my on and off switch on my ethrrnet cable works perfect. Thanks .Excellent narrative.
