How long is the program and how much was it?
@joslynnlabak11 ай бұрын
Hi!! Sorry I am just seeing this. They program is about 10 months. Unfortunately I don't remember off the top of my head what it was cost wise (plus it slightly varies from year to year) but it also depends if you get any early admission scholarships.

Hi questions! 1) Do you know if other fees/cost associated to the program besides the tuition?(photoshoots, agency audition, etc) 2)Is there a checklist for what to bring? 3)Do you know any members that have completed the agency audition process with an update of how that was and where that’s gotten them? :) Thank youu
@joslynnlabak Жыл бұрын
Hiii! I am so sorry for just now seeing this! 1. Besides tuition and rent, there isn't any additional fees for photoshoots or auditions. The only things that would add are any costumes that you have to buy yourself but they mostly do that for you and any shoes you might need. 2. I got a basic checklist for class stuff and for apartment stuff. It didn't go hugely into detail but it was still amazing to have. 3. Oh yes many many people. Most of my class in fact got an agent and are booking jobs! There are also some with cruise ships and cirque! Again I am so sorry for just now seeing this! If you have any more questions feel free to ask here or also dm me on instagram!

This is amazing! How much time did it take you to choreograph this? It's a long piece! Do you get graded for it?
@joslynnlabak Жыл бұрын
Thank you!!! Honestly it took me a bit because you have meetings with Teddy to help decide lighting, song and intention and then you start creating. Plus I am a perfectionist and I restarted my dance so so so many times haha. I probably started choreographing this in early October and filmed it mid December. No we didn't get graded for it since it's not a graded/academic program. It was to put in our portfolios for industry work!

How advanced do you need to be? Also do you guys learn all genres of dance?
@joslynnlabak Жыл бұрын
Hiiii! I am so sorry that I am just seeing this! It is definitely an advanced level program due to the workload and difficulty of choreography but it is a training program designated for you to grow so they care more about your passion for growth than ability. Yes we did almost every style in the book!

I want to audition but I’ve been holding myself back because I feel like I’m not flexible enough or know how to do tricks. Do you have any advice?
@joslynnlabak Жыл бұрын
Hiiii, sorry for just seeing this! There's no need to be super flexible or need to be able to do a bunch of tricks I promise. I have friends from CLI who couldn't lift their leg above 90 and other friends who only could do a cartwheel. Yes it's a nice skill set to have but the program focuses on your growth as a dancer in the professional industry and not focused too much on tricks/what you would see at competition(there are acro classes though if you would like to take them though). I hope this helps and if you have anymore questions feel free to ask! I am thinking about doing another q&a about anything (CLI, convention, travel, life, etc), so if you have any questions, feel free to comment more here or you can also dm me on instagram @joslynnmlabak :)

hello! i love your vlogs! :D i was wondering if the cli conservatory is worth it and the benefits it comes with? i was also wondering if it’s a great dance school for growth and opportunity, i’d love to know!
@joslynnlabak Жыл бұрын
Hiiii! Sorry I am just seeing this, I didn't realize my notifications were off. Thank you so much! I would 100% say that the experience was worth it. There are endless benefits. Some of them include new choreographers every week, personal branding seminars, photoshoots, networking, wellness seminars, private auditions, resume building and so much more! It is amazing for growth and opportunity. Like for example, I can do hiphop but I never conserved myself great at it. I took a video one of the first weeks of the program and looked at it about a month later and it was crazy how much growth there was from then to that moment(and even more throughout the whole year). This program, in my opinion and many others, will also teach you more about the professional industry in 10 months than 4 years as a dance major in college. I hope this helps and if you have anymore questions feel free to ask! I am thinking about doing another q&a about anything (CLI, convention, travel, life, etc), so if you have any questions, feel free to comment more here or you can also dm me on instagram @joslynnmlabak :)

How do you afford to go there?
@joslynnlabak Жыл бұрын
Hiiii! Sorry I am just seeing this now, I didn't realize my notifications were off. I was very fortunate and so grateful that my parents paid for it. My parents acted as if it was my first year of college and paid for about the same things they would have paid for if I did go to college; they did rent and tuition and I did everything else like groceries or going out with friends. Some of my other friends just saved saved saved before coming, some did a fundraiser/go fund me type of thing, and some even got a job and would work the weekends. My close friend Bre was one of the couple who got a job. She was able to get a job at a nearby cafe called Tandem Bagels and would work Saturday and Sunday mornings. Was she tired? For sure, but she did what she needed to do and she also loved working there. I hope this helps and if you have anymore questions feel free to ask! I am thinking about doing another q&a about anything (CLI, convention, travel, life, etc), so if you have any questions, feel free to comment more here or you can also dm me on instagram @joslynnmlabak :)

@sophiegriff1n Жыл бұрын
me too!! like as much as I wish I could tap I simply cannot 😭
@joslynnlabak Жыл бұрын
heels is not required but it is on our schedule depending on what teacher is in. but there are many people who came into this with little heels experience who feel much more comfortable now. the teachers who come in usually ask how much experience we have as a whole and base their class from there. but you don’t have to wear heels if you don’t want to!!! i have many friends who just go barefoot. Unless stated that you have to be wearing heels(which we haven’t had) feel free to not wear them! The o my time it was stated that we had to wear heels was when shannon lewis came in for musical theater and that was just character heels and not street heels :) if you have anymore questions feel free to ask! if it’s easier you can always instagram message me questions too. maybe i’ll do a cli q&a video🤔
