Being Canadian, the Detectorist’s decision not to inspect the Land-Owners treasure more closely didn’t make sense to Me until I learned about the British laws requiring that all found ‘Hordes’ (ie any precious-metal) must be reported and turned-over to the Govt via the British Museum - at which point the discovery becomes known to Others, which is the major-concern in this episode/show. (If I’m remembering correctly, Those who DO report a found ‘horde’ within 1-yr will be compensated with 80% of its present-day value - but those who don’t do so aren’t legally entitled to any compensation. …Either way, the Finder doesn’t get to keep the Treasure; which I think is a shame.)

Well actually, no because it is only one object so it doesn't count as a 'hoard' therefore it would be Andy's provided he and Lance got a written agreement stating that they can keep what they find, however he should give it to the county FLO for recording on the PAS before offering it to Becks as that is a legal requirement.

Netflix have a habit of cancelling a show after 2 or 3 seasons sometimes. No real clue as to why. It's unfortunate it happened with this show too, such a great watch.

Same here. I know exactly what you mean, as a distraction? In my case, all brought on at the very start of this present, never-ending, situation. Better still, is getting out with my detector when I can, though 75 this week, even if only for the hour or two I can now manage. As the Yanks say, we are being subjected to unprecedented FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt) which does not help. Yes, a wonderful series, much missed. We could do with another series 🙂
