OK, give some Baking Soda a try. Already a powder and wicked cheap. I think it is machinable, non toxic, settles your tummy and helps when making Cookies! Seriously, it is an excellent super glue filler and is instant with a poof of accelerator.

How can I learn how to sharpen it?
@flybookies4403Ай бұрын
This method does not sharpen a knife 🔪 Grinding means removing material. The knife becomes smaller!

Mit dieser Methode schärft man kein Messer! Es wird nur durch das abschliefen immer kleiner:

Modifying grinding disks is a great way to lose an eye. You're also not going to get anywhere near a decent angle on the edge that will last for a bit

I don't see the value of this. Every cheap bench grinder from the hardware store has a groove in the stamped-metal tool rest that is at the correct angle to do everything you just did. This kind of pencil-sharpener process doesn't grind the relief, which is why you had to do that by hand. If you are going to do the relief by hand then why not just sharpen the bit by hand on a bench grinder? I sharpen most of my bits by hand, but I use a Drill Doctor for the small ones, because life is too short to try to sharpen an 1/8" drill bit by hand.

You are aware that all, but especially the one shown in the video, drill bits are tempered and heat treated no? So basically by heating them with the flame, you are basically converting what before was hardened steel into very soft one? So even if you do sharpen it its going to lose its edge around 30 times faster than it would if you hadn't touched it in the first place? This idea creates more problems than solutions.

Modern quality drill bits are made out of high-speed steel. They won't lose temper until they are so hot they are glowing.

So, a less misleading title might be, "After several hours of making an overall grinding jig, and another 10 minutes making a specific jig for each drill bit out of plastic bottles, I can sharpen the drill bit in somewhere between 20 seconds and 2 minutes." No thanks, drill bits are not that expensive.
