I just completed my first letter mold and was horrified to see that a magnet I had placed in there had a giant air bubble right in the front, which of course, wasn't visible from the back when I pressed it in. How do you ensure there are no bubbles underneath the objects you're placing into the mold?

Pour even slower around the objects and I did everything in layers . Pouring slow is the best though .

@@jowaller69 Thank you so much! I have to do the whole project again not only for the big bubble in front but also because one of my objects was carved out of wood and floated to the top of the mold and wouldn't stay down! LOL I'll be doing this version in layers to keep it in place this time.

@@djimajen what I would do for objects that float is pour a really thin layer just enough to get sticky quick put in your object just enough to stick not cover and wait maybe 20 30 minutes then cover it

I had the pictures printed out at Walgreens on regular photo paper. I did not coat them first I had several pictures made and tasted them using smaller coaster molds which I then gave to the dads.

Just so ya know...pretty much everything in this video is wrong 😬 Adhesive shelf liner is a no-no. It's toxic under heat. Also, you act like 40gal terrariums are big. That is WAYYYY too small. The MINIMUM for a Beardie is a 120gallon. You need a flat basking surface (slate, rock etc.) I see that this video is 3 years old...I'm hoping you've learned a lot since you made this video and made the appropriate changes.

Super cute idea. The music was awful! Think about your audience not just what you like. To fix the bug mistake,you should have sanded it down until gone then put resin back in. Also I would have painted the edges of the letters except for the bottom to give it more definition! Thanks for sharing just please kill the annoying music! 😊

I'm so glad I found ur page . Just found out yesterday that my granddaughter is due with my first great grandbaby Feb.1st 2004. I wanted to make something extra special. And I plan to do this as a nightlight . We'll know next month the sex of the baby and get the name. Thank you.

very cute.....did you seal the pictures before adding resin, so they dont get damaged???? Suggestion on the stand when done add a baby item (nick knack) on each corner..(rocking horse, teddy bear etc.)

No I didn’t. I made a tester using a coaster mold first. When I saw that the photos were fine I made the letter molds. The babies have just turned 1 , the photos are still good. I still suggest testing a copy of your photo first.

Does the pictures have to be laminated? Was some dried resin in mold before you placed picture?

Only if you want to do that. I didn’t laminate these and they did very well. But I had copies and tested it first. These are black and whites I would definitely test it if it’s a color pic. Take a copy and make a small test mold.

Always use non adhesive liner, adhesive kind releases gases which are toxic from heat and uvb light….
