Where’d you get the rack?
@dragon_offroad
@dragon_offroad 8 сағат бұрын
@@tennesseekayakd255 it was a cycle racks rack I welded panniers on. I now swapped that out for a rack from a dr650 and just run saddlebags on the side covers.

@@danielloo881 I'm sure it could if you had the right press plates or impact socket sizes to fit the arms. The ball joint clamp press tool may be a better choice.

I am a BUSHCRAFTER/SURVIVALIST. But I have been studying ULTRALIGHT. I'll never be an ultralight hiker. But I have figured out how to implicate. Ultralight techniques into my new Bushcraft kit. My OLD Bushcraft pack weight was about 55lbs. It was like an expedition pack set-up. But I'm still working on. It but it looks like my new pack is going to be around 20 lbs. This includes all my moded tools. For Bushcraft solar power setup. And everything else. I use a cowboy bedrow shelter set-up that Is now set up in ultralight format. I REALLY HAD TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX ! ( As they say ) To get the weight down. But I'm doing it.

I loved the idea of kick starting, had them for years. I preferred the option on street bikes of both electric and kick. Right up until a Yamaha XT500 separated my Achilles tendon… Wasn’t my bike, helping a buddy who thought he screwed up a top end rebuild. Nope, mechanically he was spot on, unfortunately he wired the ignition backwards so it sounded like it wanted to catch but just not quite. I really wish we looked at that sooner… My luck after many kicks it decided it had enough of me and kicked back…hard. Surgeon was awesome, in pre op he said to the nurse “that’s why they call them thumpers”. So after not being able to drive my car (a stick shift) or work for 4 months kick starts are a memory of my past.

I just installed a new clutch and my oring was chewed up. Installed a new one. When everyrhing was finished and running i still got oil coming out the weep hole. I was just about to take the bike up to Tennessee and do a few hundred miles of riding. I dont have tine to wait for a rebuild kit to come. Do you think im safe for a few hundred miles? The weep hole leaked oil since i bough the bike a couple years ago and ive rode probably 500 miles on it like that. Now my concern is getting stranded in the middle of nownere.
@dragon_offroad

@@lapincfl you would have to quantify the amount of oil loss versus how many miles and top it off that much along your trip. Maybe put a paper towel in there to catch most of the oil.

Is that a 1995 KLR? I have the same model and colours, except the previous owner before the guy I bought it off spray painted the teal with black. Now I’m trying to restore it maybe as it only has about 20k kilometres on it. Got it for $1900, some things in rougher shape, has some rust but for the most part it’s amazing
