I bought a basically new k1 4 inch stroke forged crank for 400. 100% worth it
@SaffordSpeedSolutions13 сағат бұрын
Looks killer ! How do you check the internal endplay on the stator ?
@BigMikesGarage21 сағат бұрын
Cool stuff. Make sure to emphasize the importance of not going to neutral in a TH400 at a high driveline speed.

Pretty much the first thing I mentioned.

Wow, its really happening. I excited to see how this goes. the look to have a really strong program going on there. That is a way kool dyno. and a really big area to learn in. Way kool. Be well.
@converterkingКүн бұрын
Why don't you add a dc variable speed gear motor to the rear of the spindle. Then you could tack and weld the converter in 2 minutes. Study plc programming and you could do it automatically.
@Telephony954Күн бұрын
Have no fear, shift them gears. that suckers gonna fly just fine. I have faith.

That has center counterweights. Are you sure it drops in to normal blocks?
@The4L80eGuy2 күн бұрын
Good point Ron! I'll find out! I'm told by the few guys that have done it it's a drop-in and didn't need the normal clearance work for stroker cranks

@@The4L80eGuy Perfect. That would be awesome.

I do know you have to run a special flywheel on those because of the bolt pattern.

Dude, I hope that polishes up. But it's yours, and in your hands. Well done.

Yeowzer there cowboy. That was a full on ramble. crazy parts score, kool new to you tools and a really nice lookin fire. Bright future next week, and hopefully a chance to educate others, don't be discouraged if they aren't as enthusiastic about the wonderful world of fluid dynamics as yourself. holes in sheet metal don't appeal to all. But chin up, there is always hope. I hope you enjoy your time in Tillamook , and be well.

That was a whole lotta stuff. sad that some of the discards can't be re machined and salvaged into something. But in a production effort I do understand. Doing the right thing for a customer, is always the thing to do. Sometime you don't have to get your ends all fattend up, but most folks just want a fair shake. Good stuff here. Thanks for sharing. Be well.

Switch pitch on a Th400. Who woulda thought. Good info, thanks Doug. I'll probably never build a 400, but knowledge is knowledge.

Im guessing the only down side could be the water gets nasty smelling like coolant did back in machine shops, but since its water, you could just literally dump it off after settling and save most of your glass beads, let them dry out and reuse.
@The4L80eGuy9 күн бұрын
Good call! I'll look into some sort of anti microbial treatment such that they use in waterjet tables

I'd strongly consider welding anything you need to before brazing, probably don't want to be running TIG over bronze or brass braze trying to get it to welding temps, you'll burn the braze up and that ain't good for you or the braze

Have you done a 4l80 with the EA billet transbrake valve body? If so, did you have a good experience with it? I've been thinking about running one on the street. I like the idea of no electronics, and maintaining 4th gear lockup.

Can you put a camera inside while its running? Or do a Garage52 and make a transparent housing, and add mica powder to the fluid to see how it flows. Love from the abyss
