Our book club in Naples, FL read this book early this winter. We loved it. You both brought out some great points. The setting is a character as well as the peaches are!

Must be pretty gosh darn good to beat Don Winslow’s CITY OF DREAMS. Great video but can you mention the font size and white space? I dont have the eyes of a 20 year old anymore. But this book should be awesome!!

Incredibly difficult to listen to the audiobook as the narrators different voices were extremely irritating!!! I should have read this instead.

Thank you. I also found you can really hear the Australian voice in this one. I guess their bushfires are so similar to ours. I’ve just started it.

We’re so proud of Fiona! She’s a local writer with our Albury shop and her being based in Wang. (We’re claiming you over the border Fiona). I hope she comes and does a signing soon- except we’ve sold out!!!!!!!!! So wait til we restock. Jac from QBD Albury.

This one I read in a day!!!! And I gave it 10/10. It’s a heist book, a missing persons story and a human story. I completely engaged with the lead character and I want Candice to write more books about “Andy”. This lends itself to film so well. The bad guys are really bad. Like - I loathe you bad- I’ve been sharing this book with people who don’t usually read crime because it’s that good. There’s a reason she co-writes with the great James Patterson, but Candice’s stand alone books soar above those. What a truly great crime novel this is.

I just finished Lola in the mirror and I cried. I’m over seventy, have read thousands of books and never cried over a book.I cried because I didn’t want it to finish,I cried because I was happy, because I was sad, because I was moved, because of the hope that’s portrayed in this book in spite of the world seemingly becoming more hopeless. That river sure is thirsty, it swallows us whole, not satisfied that is insides are saturated,it wants more than we can give. Trent Dalton has produced three of Australia’s greatest books and the world needs to learn about his works.

Fiona speaking about Bryce Courtney really shares how generous Australian writers are. David Malouf had a chat with me at a bar in Canberra last century. Australian writers are different from European, English or American authors. There’s a beautiful team spirit.

A great synopsis of a most brilliant book and the thoughts of a brilliant writer. The phrase he uses at the end - that we read alone, yet it makes you feel less alone - is so true. Thanks for the interview.

I adored “Boy Swallows Universe”, which I read two years ago- and because I raved about it to my Mum for so long, she gifted me this book for Christmas. I have set aside a whole weekend so I can read it from start to finish in one go. Trent is an incredible, incredible storyteller who still manages to make me look for the positive in everything.

I could listen to Bryan talk about storytelling for hours and hours. He’s such a familiar character, to hear him tell a yarn. That’s the voice of the book. Love this interview. He does like to talk - best subject to have. Thanks so much for bringing the book to life. My god I’d love to interview Bryan Brown. Well done Victoria.
