At the 1:58:51 mark, you rolled past my brother’s bar in downtown Hood River. it’s called 64 Taphouse and it’s on the left as you are driving by. Great little bar favored by the locals and many windsurfers and visitors that come to the area.

Beautiful area huh?! Welcome to my home area! I live just 10 miles or less north in Vancouver wa. I used to travel to vista house and the old freeway there for weekly pleasure rides in high school. Always knew i lived in a magical place

great video. but, you said that Long Beach (in Washington) is the longest beach in the world and I'm not sure if you were kidding or not, but it isn't the longest beach in the world. that title goes to Praia do Cassino in Brazil. 158 miles long. Long Beach, WA is the longest "drive-able" beach, but in terms of actual mileage in length, Praia do Cassino takes it.

Look at the open road. I visited Arizona and it was a pleasure to drive there. The people were very hospitable. It's is a beautiful state.

My wife and I drive this a couple times a year for a day get away. We love to have visitors come and see our beautiful state. A few years back some teenage visitors decided they were going to throw firecrackers in the dry season. If you look closely at Bonneville Dam (fire truck segment) on the bluff you can see the results of their stupidity. It’s heartbreaking to see the damage done! It used to be all green.

More great stuff. When I saw the first waterfall I thought it would make a Bob Ross painting 😉 I was just wondering how close you were to clearing that little overpass when you commented on it. Cheers for showing us your lovely country. 🙂

Hi Russ. Next time you’re on the Oregon or Washington coast going through the port towns stop in and check out any US Coast Guard Stations. I know in Oregon, Newport, DePoe Bay, or Astoria they would give you a tour of the station and possibly one of the motor boats. I did the one in Coos Bay ( Charleston) and they took me around the station and on the motor boats. It was very interesting.

The rock formations in the gorge were carved out during the ice age mega floods that filled the gorge to the brim in many places. Those floods traveled at 60+ mph and drained 450 cubic miles of water out of glacial lake Missoula in Montana 18,000 to 12,000 years ago, repeatedly, more than 40 times.

Little interesting fact about Missouri. As a resident, you are allowed to distill 200 gallons of moonshine for personal use EVERY YEAR. Which equals almost 700 handles a year 😮

Another great episode from the summer trip🙂 Wow, those lampreys at the Bonneville fish ladder viewing window are super creepy! There's so much to see in that area, there's never enough time to see it all. If you ever make it back I highly recommend a visit to the world-class Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum in Hood River.

Some have woodstoves still here in Sweden. Especially if you live out in the countryside or have a summer house. Good to have if the electricity goes out. You can buy modern types of them too. 👍🏻😁 I love this video. It was really informative and interesting. Thank you! ❤
