Hello guys, Thanks for nice content and greetings from Finland, I am just wondering, could you recommend some source where it is possible to buy some Van like your’s. I am pretty sure that there are people who have 1~2years of nomad life before settling down and they are selling their travel vans without dismantling bed and equipment. As an example, Here in EU we have some marinas in Spain where people sale their Sails after an around the world 🌍 trip cheaper than usually? Do you have something the same for pool of vans after an around the Au trips?😊
@TranquilaTravels2 күн бұрын
Hey! Thanks! Yep there are defo people who do the lap of Australia and then sell up! The best place to look is probably Facebook marketplace in our experience 👍 there are Facebook groups as well dedicated to selling camper vans

Great video! We’ll be in Iceland from October 8th to 13th and are wondering if it's possible to complete the full Ring Road during that time. Initially, we planned to stick to the southern part, but now we're considering the northern section as well. Given the time of year, do you think it's feasible to cover the north, or should we stay in the south? Also, would you recommend traveling clockwise or counterclockwise? We've rented a Benivan motorhome, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
@TranquilaTravels13 күн бұрын
Thanks! We did the whole ring road in 5 days easily and would definitely recommend the north as we preferred it, mostly because it was way less busy! But just to caveat that, we were there in May so we had good weather and long hours of daylight for driving! Also depends on how much driving you're happy to do each day. Would recommend checking the conditions of the roads, especially in the North. In terms of which direction to go, we would recommend avoiding the south on the weekend if you can but don't think it matters too much. Hope you have a great trip!

@@TranquilaTravels Thanks for your quick response! We're going to Costa Rica again in early December, we went last year and in 2019. We plan on driving from Montezuma to Nosara up the coastal route 160 then on to Tamarindo. We are renting a four wheel drive suv for the trip. Great shots of the river crossings. We have been thru some rivers before but not as wide as Bongo or Aria. Do you think we can do it during December? 🚙
@TranquilaTravels9 күн бұрын
No worries! Enjoy!! Hmmm would defo recommend doing some research and speaking to locals, but as December is the first month after a loooong wet season, not too sure they will be passable unfortunately - we're obviously not experts so always worth asking the locals! Have a great trip 🤙

Congrats!!!! One question for you guys!! How would you compared the first day hike with the 2nd one in terms of difficulty ? We are planning to make the first one in a 4x4 to have enough gas to make the fuego hike and the Acatenango summit the next day. Thoughts?
@TranquilaTravels2 ай бұрын
Thank you!! Exciting that you are planning to do it! The summit to Acatenango from base camp is steeper but for a much shorter period of time. I would recommend hiking to base camp, as you can then gage your ability to do Fuego and the summit hikes which are much more challenging (it's cold, you have to go at a fastee pace because of the sunset/darkness, you can't turn back without the whole group having to wait for you, etc). For example, our company wouldn't let people who struggled on the base camp hike do the Fuego hike. That said, we didn't do it as Dan has asthma so can't give you a definitive answer. Hope you have a great time, it's awesome.

Really interesting. Thanks. I would have put sound deadening on the wheel arches for sure. Even though they will be covered. Also, would never have put the wooden floor straight onto the vehicle metal just because there is no give for vibration or movement. The insulation is not only about the heat/cold, but also acts as absorption for vibration of the car. Less chance of rattling when moving, as well as prolonging the life of the build on top (joints, seals etc). Good to see though, how different people do their builds. Look forward to the next video.

Sound deadening on the wheel arches is a good suggestion, I’ll definitely consider that. Thanks for the positive feedback!

interested in how you managed to get the new poptop latches. Our conversion was done by an Ironman dealer in June and we ended up with the old latches. (both of which have broken already)
@TranquilaTravels3 ай бұрын
Ivan from Peak Off-road has been using the new latches since Jan this year. He made a video on his KZbin channel on Jan 1st explaining why they’ve stopped using the old ones. I think you can buy the new latches from him. I’ll leave the website here. Ivan is super useful with any Alu-Cab stuff. I had a great experience going through his shop. www.peakoffroad.com.au

@jP-yu9ie5 ай бұрын
It’s probably a 3 hour drive from Guatemala City .. cost depends on how you get there, if it’s a chicken bus to Pt San Jose way cheaper but dangerous as those buses drive recklessly.. best to get a shuttle
