I have been looking for the old hospital on Tolpits Lane opposite Holywell school but nothing around anywhere.

I've no idea why this appeared in my feed, but this was the Watford I grew up in and it brought a tear to my eye remembering how it used to be.

At least we didn’t have food banks and a stripped economy then - even under that particular tory government. Now look at the UK. People managed then, they didn’t go hungry. Nobody had much money (unless a millionaire and they were scarce then), but it was better generally, even though we didn’t have much. My most treasured memories are of the 1980s, even though I love my family just as much now, but the 1980s were a different time, life was so much simpler. Now it’s tough for most people.

If only Olde England was still like that, it has changed beyond recognition. Priceless footage, but very sad music, makes me feel like crying. I yearn for those days of the 1980s, I am middle aged and I feel so old now. 😢

I live in a house now built on these grounds, we’ve been experiencing some unusual and unexplained events. Which has sparked me into looking at old videos and looking into the history. It’s weird to see it all like this.

This is mad , starts off right where I live , Leavesden , you drove past the old peoples home Dale Court then that’s Leavesden Green Primary School on the left at 0:57 , and then that’s the Hare pub you pan to at 1:07 , it’s another old peoples home now . Shame you couldn’t pan to the right at about 6:30 , you’d have been passing my old school Watford Boys , I’d have been in the 5th form then
@bobmathews907210 ай бұрын
Took me a while to get my bearings there, starts in Baldwin’s Lane in Croxley , down to the two bridges , then on to Whippen-Delhi road as we called it in the 80’s , I’d have probably been sitting in my class at Watford Boys when this was being filmed

Snap. I often used listen to radio plays with my father back in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s and this and a comedy called Sport of Angels, also available on YT, were my favourites. It’s been very pleasant and nostalgic to hear them again after all this time.
