Krylon is usually well regarded for sticking to plastics so I think it'd work great!

Awesome! How many cans of the Rustoleum did you need? Did you ever add a clear coat to seal? Thanks

I had bought the Rustoleum on sale and just bought one can each, well before the Pulse Rifle. So I was able to do all of it with the one can of each. I may have done a layer or two of the black with another satin or matte black, and then the Rustoleum after, I can't remember :p No clear coat, these paints are used for people spraying their hunting equipment so seems pretty well wearing, but I may give it a coat of a matte clearcoat at some point if I notice chipping

Looks great! The only thing I would add is: have you considered giving it a coat of satin Clear? Both for protection of your weathering job, and also because the M41As in the film do have a bit of shine to them. I feel your pain on the forgetting screws/fiddly electronics too.

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, I think I will be doing that, I wasn't planning on it as it was going to be hung on a wall, but even the occasional handling gets some of the original plastics showing through.
