It appears that no actual high explosives were in the truck. They said it was gas in containers and firework mortars. Not any "bomb" materials. As you can see from the video it just popped and lots of fireworks shooting around and of course a gas fueled fire. There was no blast wave or concussion. The battery in the truck did not catch fire as this would have caused major damage to the truck and a much more intense fire. The tires didn't even burn. Yes this was a message sent but very poorly designed. Most likely not even be associated with the Houston event. In my opinion it is not even associated with any terrorist cell or it would have been a little more disruptive.
