I met Steve on 2 different occasions in Thailand - I would love to get hold of him.

I don't want to disrespect his privacy, but I can tell you that Steve resides not terribly far from his childhood home in rural Ohio. I figure that's enough information to get in touch with him.

I read it 30 years ago, and then again just now. I don’t see how he walked over 4 years yet nothing in the book about getting sick . Lucky guy

Patty, i went to HighSchool with Darci Newman at Eastern Brown HS. That is Steve Newman's wife. She was a mentor to me as was he, and i have have been trying to get ahold of her and her husband Steve. They played a big role for me but i cannot find either of them on facebook. I graduated in 2007 from Eastern brown and was in her (Darci's) class. Would love if you could put me in contact with either of them. Thanks!

12/31/2023. Just listened to this for the first time. My husband, Phil Forsythe, was a Social Studies teacher at Teays Valley in Ashville Ohio and instrumental in getting Steve to speak at the school. We had the privilege of having Steve spend the night in our house. Enjoyed getting to know him. He is a delightful guest. He is a very tall man and the room he slept in, not large! The following morning he related that our dog chose that room and bed to snuggle in with! The dog slept well, Steve no so much! Steve was a gracious host and we appreciated sharing a day with him! We think of you often Steve! ♥️
