Trusting you gut and feeling is the opposite of following your desires if those desires are sinful. We all have a conscience. It can never be wrong. It is how God speaks to us to show us right from wrong. I agree with what you are teaching here though and this is semantics of words that I mention. Not the teaching about the wicked hear does not mean sinful heart. I translated from unrevealing heart and a heart weak in the flesh. Our hearts are not evil. We have to be careful with this teaching as most get it wrong and often use that one line way out of context for all sorts of things. When we are not saved we can not understand what is in our hearts. Gods will is written on it. We can not see it when we are not saved. I hear people saying not to trust their feelings like you say and so many falling into depression for it. I really love your teaching here. This helps people take the legalism off of this. We do need to be careful and I would not tell people to just follow your heart. As you said we should search our hearts and we will see some of out motivation may be due to resentments or offence or pain. The bible is has the first teaching that we call cognitive behavioral therapy. When we are upset we can not see clearly. Oh how I thought satisfying my desires would make me happy. This person is dangerous. My husband who has PTSD contacted her for counseling. He'd just seen a psychiatric nurse at OSI who recommended he take advantage of health coverage for veterans. He called her. She said "the problem with people like you is that you wait too long for help, then it's a mess for me". Next, because my husband gets confused. He asked me to answer some of her questions. She said "I can't hear you above your wife talking". I said to my husband "this isn't going to work". He said to Ms. Palfy "this isn't going to work for us. She said "ok" and he hung up. 1 hour later 4 RCMP showed up. They'd been told that a vet with PTSD was dangerous & possibly had a woman tied up. I'm not at all kidding about this. As the poor RCMP came into a situation they might have had their lives at stake. This stupid, stupid , stupid woman did this out of malicious intent.

Jesus has transformed my life! i grew up in a christian household and i accepted jesus into my heart at 8yrs old and been a christian since, but i never truly gave my all to christ, last weekend i went to a church camp my church has hosted, and there God opened my eyes i felt convicted of the sins i knew i was committing, and even sins i didn’t know, i decided to give my all to christ and fully commit to him, his will not mine, God bless!

My former husband used to look at other women even very young ones in their mid teens. He wouldn't just look--he would ogle and drool at very young women at the beach. And he was a high school teacher! It was disgusting. And he wouldnever fail to point out women he found attractive to me, always women who looked nothing like me. Thank you for sharing this Randy, I have tried several times to get my boys to come to Church with me, they know the Lord and were raised in a Christian setting all their lives, when they wonder why bad things happen to them, I just tell them that God is trying to get through to them, maybe if you would talk to them it would make a differance, they respect you , I told them I would even go back to the Baptist Church with them, When my pastor isn't at my Church, [which is most of the time[ but they just say, I will think about it.

I've spent so many years and prayers and so much time contemplating this topic. It's not that simple! God designed us to have these desires, it is what propagates the species. Even if you are doing it in the name of God, celibacy and long-term abstinence are unnatural ways to live. I'm not saying it's wrong but I am saying it's unnatural and you will be fighting an uphill battle the entire way. "Be fruitful and multiply" is the FIRST text in the Bible indicating speech from God to man. Sex has a place and it's important. To erase it from the mind is to erase the species from existence. That being said, it has a proper place. It can get out of hand and that's usually because of underlying psychological problems or diabolical influence. So trying to repress a healthy impulse is going to create illnesses just the same as giving into a wayward appetite. Temperance and vigilance.

Ive'seen Christian's rush into marriage so they can quit pumping their equipment.....and having GOD anrgy with them......What they forget....when you live with a marriage partner it will open the door to all kinds of other sins you never had to deal with.....like arguments that produce all kinds of negative stuff...............and it may still not cure the lust problem.....so Paul's simple better to marry than burn with passion ..........is way too simplistic
