From what I can see it looks really good, but I think your camera is having a hard time focusing because its blurry in your workspace even at 1080p.

Thank you, I have been drawing frame lines this way for a long time. Currently, we are reproducing flash rivets, but we also use the same procedure for marking.

Hello, and thanks for the great tip on riveting the unreachable curves on the fuselage using transparent tape and the riveter. The translation is great, and I dont really pay much attention to the typo errors / misspellings. Have a nice day, and thanks again :-D

Thanks for your comment. For areas where large rivet rollers cannot be used, such as fillets, I am following this procedure. I hope the model you create will be even better♪

I have riveted a 1/48 J2M3 last year and am working on a J2M5 now, and found that there are differences between the drawings of Matsuba Minoru and the kit that I had to account for and modify to fit the kit. I see you have the J2M2, I have been looking for that here (Canada) for a while now. The Raiden is my favourite Japanese Naval aircraft, so I hope to find all 1/32 versions (I have all of them in 1/48 by Hasegawa, haha).

@Yow-ske 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. Since there are times when none of the models match the drawings drawn by Minoru Matsuba, The fuselage draws a frame line with the front and rear dividing lines as the center. J2M2 "Raiden" is no exception, and it is drawn centering on the dividing line at the center of the fuselage.

Translation was great , I understood everything. You tips on using a compass and the tape are great, I will have to keep those in mind when I work on my next build (1/32 Ki-84 prototype). One tip about the rivets not meeting at the spine and belly of the fuselage would be to draw the lines on both halves first, then put them together to see if they meet before you rivet one side. I found this is also important for the wing leading edges.
@Yow-ske
@Yow-ske Жыл бұрын
Thank you for viewing. You are right, when riveting the back and belly, roll the rivet roller with the parts aligned on the left and right sides to prevent them from shifting. It would be a good idea to follow the same procedure for the frame lines of the main wing ribs.

Thanks for the great video. I’ve only recently started riveting and so far I have only done it on 1/48 aircraft with a Rosie, and haven’t found the need to round out the holes like you have (which makes your result look really great). Instead of measuring by hand, I draw the rivet lines over top of the 3 view in the instructions, and then send it to my Cameo to cut templates out of Oramask 813. It’s a long process to design and cut these but once I have the templates, riveting goes very fast. This doesn’t work for the vertical station rivets in the fuselage because of the curve, so instead I cut smaller squares (actually trapezoids) and lay them along the rivet line. Being smaller pieces, I am able to place them along the fuselage curve and get a straight line. This is the hardest part of riveting, and sometimes you need to just trust your eyes.

Thanks for your comment, That's right, not all drawings are correct; it is necessary to calculate frame lines from the panel lines of the model body, and then draw frame lines at just the right intervals from there. There are various radii, and it is difficult to form a straight line on a vertical surface, so I also check it directly with my eyes to make sure it is vertical.

Sorry for the late reply. 😥 If you have a drawing that is magnified to the same size, You can do it by measuring and writing from the drawing with a divider based on the streak carving of the model, so please try it. I am looking forward to your finished product.
