Its definitely real but i think the gunner was having problems with the turret and didn't hit the target he wanted to which can be seen with the direction the shell is flying in. Also the Shell looks to be either a AP Shell or a Sabot Shell but a Sabot shell is more realistic since it doesn't explode and the recording exists. Meaning that the Tank most likely shot a non explosive anti tank shell at infantry

@@afg2987 Nah mate. The tip of HE Shells are not so pointy but have a more rounder form. That definitely looks like a AP Shell or more likely a Sabot Shell. This would also confirm on why this recording even exists because the HE Shell and AP Shell would have blasted the recorder to bits and pieces.

It's a HEAT-FS. An APFSDS has a much, much more narrow body, and look more like a dart than a shell. HEAT-FS has pointy head connected to a much wider cylindrical body. Also, the gun most likely work fine, but for some reasons, the gunner use the smaller propellant charge, resulting in lower velocity shell. T-72 series use two-stage autoloader, which mean the shell and the propellant charge are inserted independently, which must be done from specific elevation angle, which is probably why the gun whobble a bit here. It was returning from loading position and aiming for the target.

Not it's APDS (armour piercing discarded sabot). It's the shells modern and semi modern tanks fire

@@kingchimp1942 no it's not Firstly, APDS stands for "Armour Piercing Discarding Sabot" Discarding not Discarded Secoundly, no modern tank uses that round anymore, they use the APFSDS (Armour Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot) Thirdly, that's not an APDS, that's clearly a HEAT-FS (High Explosive Anti Tank Fin Stabilized
