hey i want to make the fury Italeri set a rc but i dont know hwat motor to get ive seen videos of it but i just dont know what motor to get if you could help me
@davidchin350Күн бұрын
@@Themodking63637 you will need a twin motor set up to be able to turn with the RC. The challenge is the tight space the Sherman has at the front drive sprocket. I built a motorized Tamiya Sherman but it came with the custom drive box. Check out my RC Jagdtiger and Sharman video and you'll know what I mean. Good Luck.
@Themodking63637Күн бұрын

@Themodking63637Күн бұрын
@@davidchin350 one more question what motor did you use like where did you get it for the sherman?
@davidchin350Күн бұрын
@Themodking63637 the Sherman came with the motor and gearbox since I bought a motorized kit from Tamiya. Tamiya still makes a motorized Sherman and Panther tank but it's not the Fury with the HVSS. it's a single motor so no turning. You may have to scratch build or seek elsewhere for a gearbox with final drive to fit your kit. In retro fitting my past tank builds I buy the Tamiya motor with gearboxes to simplify matters but there are size limitations. Maybe you should try motorizing one with no RC unit to get a grasp of the process??
@Themodking63637Күн бұрын
@ alright ill just buy the sherman and take the componests and put it into the fury

Very curious as to how that Fortress turns out. Yes brush painting 1/72 figures can be a pain (just painted a 1/72 pilot myself) but take your time and they should be fine. I hope you do try to DIY a siege tower. Very jealous of that X-1. I love the X series of planes and have a number in my stash. Watch the film The Right Stuff (great movie) to learn exactly how significant the X-1 was. I actually have two X-1s in my stash but those are 1/72 and even 1/44 which are VERY small. Happy New Year.

Quite an interesting mix! Those 1/72 figures must be tiny. I built that X-1! same box, back in the late 80s or early 90s. It is 1/32 but the finished model is about the same order of magnitude as something like a 1/48 F-105. And tehn what a nice gift of the firetruck. fun stuff to look forward to on your channel!

That's so cool. How do I know if my kit is able to be motorized?
@davidchin35018 күн бұрын
Hi Cory, I choose early Tamiya tank releases since many were motorized at one time. The current M41 Walker Bulldog tank at Hobby Lobby is a good choice to motorize if its your first time with a Tamiya Universal motor gearbox. I look for the soft rubber band tracks, poly caps for the road, idler and drive wheels and the hex fitment on the back of the drive sprocket wheel. Once you motorize one you'll know the basics in choosing your future kits to motorize. The trick is fitting the hex nut over the metal axle and into the drive sprocket wheel to handle the torque from the motor. Let me know if you have any questions.😊
