My mother made this in the 60's. She used fresh tomatoes, peeled, potatoes, green beans and carrots, onion. It was one of my favorites growing up! She even canned it.

This soup is a classic. It's not the rich lady's soup. My mom always made it.

I'm in South Texas, so I'm obliged to add a chopped jalapeno. That's how we roll. This is delicious stuff !

Hamburger soup has been around for DECADES. Its poor people's food. Its not "new". PW is always taking old recipes and claiming them as her own.🙄

Brown beef, onion and garlic, add a 28oz can of crushed tomatoes, a spoon full of beef boullion and a couple cans of Veg-All. DONE.

Looks good. I make something similar with canned green beans and ground turkey. Lasts for days and so good and economical

Excellent recipe. Chock full of flavor & nutrition. As for me, I use cabbage as it is the cheapest but most filling ingredient in my stew. A touch of ketchup & Italian salad dressing will add a surprising amount of flavor. Enjoy and always stay well.

Have you tried pressing the mince into the pan like a giant smash burger to get a crust both sides the use a potato masher to break it up? I was taught to do this when making chilli con carne then adding some flour to thicken the dish. Thanks for the video, take care, God bless one and all.

Those veggies are not exactly soup cut. They look like they're cut for a casserole or something but not a soup.

Its hamburger soup. You essentially just throw in hamburger, whatever veg you have, some broth and eat it. Not everyone has the money for frills.

@Ruth Smith My local American diner has some Mexican specialties due to the chef's nationality. He makes a ground beef soup called picadillo, which I like a lot. Very much tasty. It looks identical to this. So I will try this recipe but maybe add some spicy peppers.

Were the potatoes mushy because they’re supposed to go in last and not cook that long with everything else?
@karenpewo26813 жыл бұрын
I would cook my potatoes and onions first then add the meat and vegetables and diced tomatoes.. Let it all simmer and serve with sweet cornbread..
