Yuja always maintains a very high standard in both her pianistic abilities and musical conceptions. Bravo Yuja!!! The orchestral accompaniment conducted by Valery Gergiev is superb. And a special note of appreciation for the video and sound recording!

I really don't care for this piece much, too many errant distracting technical flourishes that do not serve the crux of the piece which, by the way, is also difficult to decipher without dozens of hearings.

What amazes me is how these great pianists hold their hands so differently, i.e. Yuja has such sinewy hands you can see articulating each note. Khatia B. almost plays with flat fingers, yet both create such incredible performances.

Why does he conduct with a toothpick?
@bob-N4REE
@bob-N4REE 2 күн бұрын
Because he doesn't need a big baton. He is so well respected that he doesn't need huge gestures, nor the attention that comes with them. The music is the important part, not the conductor.

I love young people who embrace classical music. South Korean, Chinese, and Japanese students work hard at it. We need American kids to work hard too. Classical music is timeless. The composers who created the pieces set a standard of performance that all people recognize. Yuga is in her 30s. She continues to thrill and mesmerize audiences to this day.

Artisticamente e MENTALMENTE ECCEZIONALE!!! ❤

Typical Asian playing technique, she learned how to fake it to the most basic level: Piano, piano and then Forte and then Piano again, followed by really fast Forte. I have seen this automaton playing many times, hers is more sophisticated than run of the mill performance.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the microphone placement. Just an insignificant bit more volume on the piano needed, but that is down to the sound engineer and producer. Perhaps you need to get a decent AV amplifier and set of speakers.
