That will last just long enough for the Detroit Locker carrier, new gears, bearings and seals to come in, but it won't make you have enough skill and experience to use a dial indicator and torque wrench to set bearing pre- load and gear lash. Much less be able to read a gear pattern with Prussian blue. As is, that should start sharpening those teeth to a razors edge in a double hurry up.

I'm trying to do this on my 91 350. I see you gave them a half turn to tighten after loosening a quarter turn and hearing the click.The Chevy manual recommends 3/4 turn but when I get to about a little over a quarter turn tightening the engine starts to bog down and run like crap. Should I ignore the 3/4 turn, 1/2 turn recommendation and just listen for it? Not sure what to do, it's not working like all these videos told me it would.
@Mechanicaltricks10 күн бұрын
@@jaseman32 Hello dear friend, thank you for watching the video First loosen the nut, you will hear the click of the rocker, then tighten it slowly until the click stops. When the click stops, now decide according to your driving style, whether you will drive in the city and on the street with low engine speed, then tighten it half a turn, or if you want to drive with high engine speed, then tighten it 1/8 turn to 1/4 turn. If you paid attention in the video, I tighten it 1/4 turn.

@@Mechanicaltricks Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate it. My engine is a new crate engine with about 800 miles on it now. The reason I'm doing this is one valve on the driver's side started clicking badly. Do you think I should I just do that one or all of them? Merry Christmas!
