My favorite song from Red is the song when that he sang for the 1976 euro vision and went on to win it that year.

Red sang When in the 1976 Eurovision Song Contest representing Ireland. The song was written by Brendan Graham and came 10th. Although in my opinion Red should have won. The actual winners were Brotherhood Of Man with Save Your Kisses For Me giving the U.K. the win.

The writer had a sister having a baby and unmarried. As far as I know she died on the roadside. She was refused entry into the local catholic church. The priest locked the gates. A group of brave and kind men broke the gate locks. Sad and cruel times in Ireland.

I absolutely loved Red Vincent Hurley back in the day but got to admit Noel Brady’s version is much better ,amazing voice,charisma in abundance.He had it all ,retired now .
