Being very much of the JDM persuasion(my DC2 R has ended up being my only car) I'm all in for this sir. 🙂 Subbed. Here in Ireland these "twin cams" as old farts like me called them(long before before Initial D and drifting became a thing too) were crazy popular for some reason. Well lots of good reasons. Helluva rally car for a start, simple and reliable as granite. Except for rust. Living on a green sponge in the Atlantic didn't help.😁 You're doing good work. Kudos.

Amazing build so far. You'll probably want to paint on some rust converter before laying down the weld through primer to ensure it doesn't come back again

Thank you! I sprayed it with ospho before and let it sit first a day. But...I didn't record it 😂 but you can see the rust area went from brown to black

Good job man. I am in the process of re-organizing my garage to do my projects a bit better. But oh man - cash is my biggest issue. Why do all these projects take so much time and money. I wish my wife would join me in some of my projects, but always alone in there toiling away.

For like small sound deadening that's like in a weird place you can use a freezer spray.Around here i got a motip freezer .Spray on hit it with a rubber mallet and remove,but it does take a good amount 5 spray cans for a 98 lancer.

Loving the long form stuff so far. I don't know if you're planning on putting a full interior back in, but I'd definitely paint the interior now while everything is out of the way. Also, shoutout to your wife for not only putting up with your car shenanigans but also helping, too! I know you've talked about her being apart of the shift knob business, but working on cars is a whole different game

I never really had a full interior to start. Leaning heavily into a clean stripped down interior I think. Definitely painting it while we're here, even if it gets very little interior, I think that'll make it overall feel and look nicer. And my wife is the coolest person I've ever met. Love her for dealing with me 😂
