You DO feel the difference in throttle with Sport mode, it's even a bit over-sensitive. Additionally, it switches to a "hard" rev limiter vs a soft one and, perhaps the most important point, it raises PSM intervention threshold.
@MissallsCarLifeАй бұрын
Very interesting! I’ve had a hard time telling the difference in the throttle mapping, but then again I haven’t done any really hard driving on it yet. And I did not know about the rev limiter! So cool! Thank you!
@MrRoyck1016 күн бұрын
I own a 981 Cayman, the sports button gives shaper throttle response and changes the ecu for a more urgent engine mapping but certainly not too sensitive like in a BMW Z4 e86 that was ultra sensitive it ruins the ride unless you are absolutely going bunkers! The difference is progressive and well measured, the exhaust gets louder with overruns. I have owned all generation of Cayman before settling with the 981 series. Enjoy your ownership and be proactive in preventative maintenance for the 987.1 and 2 series to reduce cost in the long run. 🇬🇧

Hello! So on this car the camera was always recording, it was plugged into the 12v socket on the left hand side of the passanger compartment and ran up below the glove box and ran up the passanger A piller. I’ve been looking at my first car, and I’ve seen some of these at around 15k, should I get a cheap little Toyota or pull the trigger on one of these? Are the repair costs high?
@MissallsCarLife2 жыл бұрын
15k in this market seems a little to good to be true, I would recommend checking them out though because you never know. If you do see a boxster that you think is nice go have it checked out by either a Porsche dealer or a trusted mechanic. Porsche will be more expensive but you can bet that thye know what to look for and will probably save you money in the long run. The Toyota would probably be a safer bet and that’s probably what I would go for because of gas and you won’t have to constantly be worrying about it, but it doesn’t hurt to go check out the boxsters. I love my car and it has been great and I have had no huge issues just the regular stuff like the oil ail separator. I have a trusted mechanic who does services and I haven’t had it serviced by Porsche and I do most things in reason my self like breaks, oil changes and simple things like that.

I just picked up an 06. Mileage was super low. Is the IMS failure a big deal in this year?? What items have you had to address mechanically?
@MissallsCarLife2 жыл бұрын
So from what I have researched only 6% of cars have the failure and most of the failures are on cars that sit and are not driven. So far only the typical mechanical problems like the Air Oil Separator and I replaced the breaks and break pads.
