In 1984-85, The Wauhobs' Southern California fan club had 1,000 members. KBRT Radio made them the centerpiece of their Saturday afternoon programming. DJ, Tim Berends called them at home, pretending to be an IRS Agent demanding taxes on a handful of sold cassettes. And they flew to LA, where they headlined over some very popular Christian artists at Marineland.

Is Steve playing clawhammer banjo here? For some reason I always thought he played Scruggs style, but I guess I was mistaken? Anyways, love Gabe's harmonies on this tune.

The plane crash scene made me cry a lot... Ollie dies and Stan, his best friend and adventures mate, remains alone, going away on his own because Ollie is not there with him anymore. Yes, there's the final part where Ollie comes back as an horse, but at that time I was crying too much to care about it.

I remember the ending to this film..I first watched it in 1959..20 years after the movie was first released..I cried..when I saw poor Ollie get killed in that plane crash..but? I was frightened..when I saw him..come back to life as a talking horse(not ala "Mr.Ed")..it took me years to understand Stan's belief in reincarnation.

Anyone else get the impression The Late Show engineers have no idea how to do sound for a bluegrass band? The sound quality is pretty terrible to my ears. (Also, what's the point of having two banjo players if neither one is gonna do a solo or be otherwise featured?)

Currently the entire album can be heard and downloaded at: www.filesanywhere.com/fs/v.aspx?v=8b6f6987616575baa867 Just keep in mind they were singing to God, not to you nor for mankind's benefit. In His eyes all are equal and everything is beautiful. He made no imperfections. Man makes and finds imperfection in God's flawless and faultless work. I thought their effort may have been something God found unique and uniquely beautiful in this, the finished and polished version of the Wauhob Family's music. I certainly hope my neighbors in the next apartment enjoy 120 decibels of Wauhob music as much as I... I think I heard them discussing renting a U-haul truck. Thank God for the Wauhob Family.
