I strongly believe addiction is hereditary, but just because it is in the primary family circle that it doesnt mean your doomed to face becoming an addict or alcoholic or the latter of the such. That would just speculate and you would be put into a catergory that would be a stigma that exists today that consistently confuses people everywhere. Addiction is a disease of the mind. A compultion an allergy and it is something that is personal with the person for them to acknowledge, admit, and decide to make a choice to better themselves by submitting to a higher level of care because our lives have become unmanageable and unable to live on lifes terms. When you said you came from a Lutheran church and no one talked about anything, this stuck with me. I grew up in a family on my dad's side. My grandpa was a Lutheran pastor, a Norwegian, Lutheran pastor. I loved my grandpa but I could not walk the, "middle line". I chose to be myself, an imperfect person but doing my best. I chose to not hide my feelings. My Uncle Dave died in a car accident in the 1950's. No one talked about it. My mom finally told me what happened when I was in college. Dave was fun, everyone joked he must be Italian. I wish that I could have met him. Anyway, I am trying to meditate for short periods of time and it is helping along ith other things. I remember Jeff Kober from China Beach, he acted the hell out of that part, a rugged Vietnam War American soldier that actually looked the part of a soldier that had been through hell, that is the reason I suspected he had been on heavy drugs around that time frame or just before, it showed in his face.

Was never a big fan of this actor when he was younger! I remember a character he played with a wine stain birthmark on his face who was very awkward and am sure got bullied in his life! But, when he appeared on GH as Cyrus Renault (a role he was meant to play, a role God, Himself CHOSE for him), I began to make the connection! Since then, I have fallen in love with this actor and have become enamored! It is sad that he has left GH and I wish him the best in his future endeavors! God Bless you, Jeff Kober! You stay safe!
