Haha funny, let's use this logic for McDonalds too: I need to provide my own transportation, clothing, insurance, my family insurance, retirement, government needs my taxes, need to show up at 9am, work all day on my feet, deal with an endless wave of customers, treat everyone with fake kindness... for $9 an hour?

If you're buying an item, then shopping prices works. The assumption many customers make is that services work the same way but they don't. Due to Digital SLR cameras now only starting from a few hundred dollars there is now an influx of hobbists working in a Pro industry. It disrupts prices because many will pick a cheaper option but sacrifice quality. To put things quite simple you cannot eat fillet steak for the price of a Burger

Boo hooo... Piss me off. I respect the skill. But any min wage employee can't complain about the conditions of the work. Sheesh an 8 hour shift in poor/stressed conditions is not uncommon and they wanna complain and talk about the cost of living when earning several thousand for maximum a week's work - mostly from home. Most people deal with that stuff - doesn't mean you have to charge loads more that shouldn't come into the equation. /Rantover

There's something about economics at play here. How many wedding photographers are there? Not that many. How many low-skilled minimum wage employees are there and how easy are they to find and replace? Plenty, and very easy. Simple. The latter has very little value and provide little value, and that reflects in their pay! And lots of people can afford the price of wedding photographers and it is worth it for them in the long run, really!

This cracks me up every time I see it... It's all the dumb questions and assumptions rolled into one video. Good to know I'm not the only one who experiences this silly stuff. The only thing they forgot is the bride calling you three days after her wedding, wanting to know when she'll get the pictures (as if it's not in the contract and you haven't told her 73 times)...because obviously, you have no other clients. Funny stuff!

It is just satire, and excellent at that. To all those high and mighty professional photographers that can't find any humor in this,,,get a life. I'm a pro wedding photographer, and it was funny. Although not all of this happens at one interview, bits and pieces of it do happen, all too often.
