Very nice! Thanks for watching. The Firebird is one of the best sounding guitars I've ever played. My favorite guitar for the last year has been my Flying V. Very similar in a lot of respects. I spent most of my summers on Huntington Beach as a kid. Haven't lived in Cali for about 30 years, but still have family there. All the very best to you!

Niice neck, moderately good action from the factory - needed the saddle cut slightly, solid spruce top, bright crisp sound, I like it. LOL

From what a buddy of mine who is a well respected tech in Florida says, they are specific Firebird pickups even though they share the mini humbucker sized. Not sure if that's true or how to find out, but the sound of the pickups is definitely unique to my humble ears. All the best and thanks for watching!

@@guitarbobification I don't see it as a deal breaker, especially considering the price point, but you are correct: they are NOT mini humbuckers, but Epiphone Probucker FB 720s instead. Again, for the price, I feel it covers a wide range of tones. A great mix between a humbucker & a P90 if you will.

Yes, the list of dislikes was definitely small - this is really a fun guitar to play. I probably won’t upgrade it only because I am working on building an explorer and have a neck through tele that was glued and cut about 5 years ago. I was waiting to have time to work on them and some tools I needed. Its funny you said your Squire is a lump - my epi gold top LP is the heaviest, thickest electric I have but I love it - just glad I don’t have to stand on stage with it for a few hours LOL!! Thanks for watching. I am still struggling to play the Firebird. I need to do a setup so that it's a little lighter on the action - then the fact that I have to stretch a bit to reach the beginning of the neck won't be as challenging LOL. All the best to you!

@@guitarbobification thx !! Ive learned i don't like long throw guitars like the SG or FB...I think the LP is perfect for the scale, throw and component placement. I just like the dimarzio minis I have and really wanna try a set of FB pups 😛😛🤟🤟

I would love to get a set of FB minis for my gold top. The probuckers it came with are very nice, but because I probably won't play the FB much it would be a great marriage - like you said, the scale length and neck comfort of an LP is very attractive!! All the best!

I wish I had a good answer. I went through a bunch of wall hangers for guitars and ended up with one that is steel and has pads for the headstock that aren't reactive to lacquer. They look like a guitar body made of metal (the plastic ones didn't make me feel comfortable). None of my stands (every imaginable configurations) worked to sit it on the floor. Because its a Gibson, you want to make sure you don't accidentally bang the headstock (I have done it a bunch of times but got lucky I didn't break one.) Don't know how many guitars you have but I am thinking about getting a Guitar Stand Case that will hold a bunch and I think the Flying V and the Explorer I am working on now might work with that. Odd guitar - Odd stuff you have to have for it LOL. Thanks for watching. All the very best to you!!
