Arguably the greatest song the 80s produced.

Reminds me of Emile’s phrase from France during WW1. “ Every day in every way I am getting better and better and better!”

Been listening to this on repeat. As an 80s kid, each time this song hits, my imaginary light jacket lights up. I was on a train platform earlier today. Felt the platform floor light up in myriad colors. All my bouffant hair stood on end, all lit. Could almost see Doc and Michael J Fox skid through in a ball of fire from the future or was it the 80s! And then I saw this video... The 80s.. Oh, to live itall over again💔

I absolutely love this movie. Billy is so broken by his crazy, quirky parents, and Layla able to read him so well. I really loved the scenes of Billy's dad taking to song to impress Layla, and the scene near the end of the movie with the parents sitting in the graveyard, watching the football game. Layla's love saved Billy, and it is a wonderful, tender ending. Christina Ricci shines in this move, so amazing to watch.

This is one of my favorite songs. And tennis is my favorite sport. I also like to play soccer. My least favorite sports are basketball and volleyball.

Absolutely gorgeous. Your sense of timing is impeccable, the song is catchy, and even just in muted clips, "Lucas" is engrossing and endearing. If you're looking for suggestions for future nostalgic '80s films to make music videos of, i'd suggest "The Boy Who Could Fly" dir. Nick Castle; it hits on a lot of the same elements of young love, friendship, and high school.

I was a 90s kid growing up, but seeing all these movie and music videos of the 80s make me oddly nostalgic for an era that I didn't have the privilege to live in.

So, if I understand correctly, given that the edited film images match the exact words of the lyrics, it seems like this song was truly inspired by the film. Or is it just the skill of a talented editor who found the perfect video and perfectly matched the images to the lyrics?

The editing is pretty great, the video flows with the music so damn well, specially the part with the xeno queen fight. I love Alien and I love Carpenter Brut, this deserves more views

Yep... heroin in the raw. Watched this movie many times as a young kid and in my teenage years. Sad that it's based on a true story. I think this movie was a complete deterrent for me to ever want to try hard drugs.

I finally got around to watching this in recent months. On my channel I usually put up recommendations for Horror or 80s films which I either rarely hear about these days (and want to see if they hold up) one ones I never got around to back in the day. I saw Diane Franklin post something on Instagram and I commented that I only really knew of her work from Bill and Ted as well as Better Off Dead and asked if she had any recommendations from her works to check out. Surprisingly she actually gave me quite the lengthy response with a list of 5 films of the 80s and 5 of her more recent films. The Last American Virgin was on the list so I finally sat down to check it out. Really a fun film. Captures the time well (from what I can remember as I aged from 5yo to 15yo during the 80s), has a great soundtrack, loud color pallet, and some very likable characters....my only criticism being the ending. :) I ended up making a video about it and it ended up my most successful one with over 10,000 views (which is a lot for a small channel like mine, with only a little under 600 total subs)
