The easiest way for me is once the vehicle and the trailer are straight in line, is to put your hand at the "bottom" of the steering wheel. If you need the trailer to go left, then simply swing your hand up to the left and vice versa if you need the trailer to go to the right.

I just brought a 2017 FX ho cruiser. The steering is definitely a lot more twitchy. I wish I saw this video and maybe should’ve considered a Sea-Doo… hello from New Zealand :-)

Rule of thumb is a 5:1 ratio of rode to depth of water. If you’re in 10 feet of water you should have 50 feet of rode. It’s also good to have a couple feet of chain to help lay the anchor on the bottom.

Don’t buy these things people. You’ll have to spend $2,500 every 200 hours having to buy a new supercharger. The old ones you could rebuild for cheap like $600-$700 now on the 2018 and up they make you buy a whole brand new one which will still fail at around 200 hours possibly even less!

They look like a good idea for my FX and they don't come with any, I'm slightly worried about drilling the body of the ski on my Nano 2, would it not cause a crazing (small cracks)on the pant work with all that pressure on it?

Great tips, if you’re approaching a yacht and don’t want to hit it what’s the best, safe way to slowdown fast or stop completely and move forward slowly as you said earlier? Thank you kindly and great info, cheers

That is a dangerous way to retrieve. If your out at sea & accidentally suck up that line, you wont get the rope out of the jet & you need to be rescued. A safer way is a short line from a clip on the ski to a free running ring hanging on the anchor line & you never have to start the ski to retrieve the anchor line.

I have been jet skiing for years. I always tell newbies the story about steering with no power. Do NOT EVER “pretend” to head at anything and turn at the last second because you will instinctively take power off, attempt to turn and you will hit that thing. Next, always LOOK, THEN turn. Last, I used to have the kill switch on my wrist, but accident pointed to something and killed the engine. Now it is always attached to my vest.

We owned a boat dealership and sold both Yamaha and Sea-Doo since the 1980's when both were new to the market. We sold the dealership in 2021 or so. Over that time we sold thousands of each brand, even had over 50 units in a single weekend. Without question Yamaha was far more reliable, no one does it better. Sea-Doos are great but they always felt more cheaply built and to a lower price point and the little issues they have are annoying and can put you out of service. Engines are solid on both but we still saw many more failures with Sea Doo. They just aren't Engineered as well. Yamaha for sure is the gold standard.

thats some serious data with 1000s of units sold.

Watching the video, Seadoo is better for me. For waves, I eFoil. Jet skiing is not a “sport” - it’s for when I want to be lazy and get from A to B fast and with some fun. No other boaters like jet skiers.
