So right! Because of Apollo, I just had to have a Friesian too! Mine is almost 3, 3/4 Friesian and 1/4 Percheron and the biggest, most loving puppy dog…she definitely loves her human family! Apollo is so impressive! 🤩

Perhaps when she is a much older, doing well in all moves as a general rule. She may understand better then, when she has proven to herself and that you know she is able to, that she can do all these things that she will learn in the years to come. Bella will always be impatient, however she will be used to handling all of the teaching and learning aids through years of practice in schooling. Bella is very very smart, and she has a great deal of drive, so that bit less bridle may perhaps still be an schooling tool albeit at a much later time.

I can't believe Bella is reacting like that because you tried bitless one time, but I say that from being a non-rider! I've never seen a horse stomp like that; it made me wonder if she might be uncomfortable - she is certainly in some kind of tizzy!

You have done so much progress with Bella! Sometimes rides don't go according to plan but you have come such a long way. If you don't know him Warwick Schiller has a lot of videos with impatient and nervous horses, maybe some of the stuff he does could help Bella, I personally love his method.

I bet she'd do great with a bitless bridle! Don't give up just yet. I've seen so many success stories of people switching over. It just takes some time to adjust. She's so smart and catches on to things pretty quickly.

I seems Bella is very sensitive to the pressure of the rope on her nose and perhaps even her neck. She may be trying to communicate this by her reverse motion. 🥰

I’m no expert in bitless but I wonder if it would be a completely different experience for Bella with a true bitless bridle as you would be able to bend or flex her head toward you, ride some serpentines to slow her and she wouldn’t have any pressure against the underside of her neck. Just a thought but it would be very interesting to see if she might be more relaxed and comfortable. 🥰
