So I stayed at Moana Surfrider last year, and I am an Ambassador level member. Based on this video, sounds like Moana is a much better choice, except right now all their balconies are closed for repairs until late summer 2025. I will stay at this Sheraton this time but will probably go back to Moana once it's done with their repairs

Sakura season varies each year, so I can't give you a definite answer. However, this is usually a good time window. If your schedule is flexible, you might want to consider moving it ahead by half a week.

We will be travelling to Paris in April via Lisbon from SFO. Are drinks free at the SFO Polaris? Wine/beer/cocktails and such? What about onboard drinks? This isn't mentioned, and should be. Thanks.

Stayed here for our 30th anniversary in a lagoon view room in September 2023 ; we enjoyed it very much, friendly staff, plenty to do and it never felt crowded

ta-ba-CON I've been to Tabacon Hot Springs twice, both times at night, in 1995 and 1997. The first time was especially magical. I thought it was just going to be still hot water, but it was a river! I was running low on money, but while I was sitting in one of the streams, I felt something in the water that I thought was a leaf, but it was a US $20 bill.

@@ChocoTravelGuide You're making me feel old! Tabacon in your video looks just like I remember it. The facilities haven't changed much. In my 1995 trip, it was four of us, two guys and two girls, all single, all visiting from the Silicon Valley. One of the girls got a massage. Afterword, she said her male masseuse was kind of grabby. I remember this song playing at the swim-up bar, a song from that era. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpPGnHyricSMesU After we finished at Tabacon--at night--we drove our rental car on a road that lead to an observation spot for the Volcano. We drove as far as we felt comfortable driving on that road in our two-wheel drive vehicle. Then we got out and sat on something and spent about an hour there watching and listening to the volcano, occasionally spraying on DEET to repel the mosquitos. It was magical. That whole day was magical. It was one of those rare days where you feel like two days' worth of stuff happened in one day. We had had breakfast in our hotel in San Jose that morning, rented a car, stopped in Zarcero to have lunch, reached the Fortuna area and got a guided tour down a trail to that waterfall that drains into a small lake, and so on. The next day, we did the Cano Negro boat tour.

Great video. Please tell me this. I have knee issues and going up and down stairs is a problem with me. Does this resort have facilities in place (elevators, ramps, golf carts etc) to help me get everywhere I might want to go? (ie: from room to restaurants, beach, pool etc..) Thanks so much, Steve S.

Sorry I can’t confirm every detail, but I do recall seeing accessible ramps in the lobby and the Alaia restaurant. Also, there is an elevator for wheelchairs near the pool area.

The building looks dated and pigeonhole-like; can't believe it's Ritz-Carlton. But the location is superb, and the water doesn't seem gentle. Wish it should be calm. But that's Turtle Bay. Great video.

Indeed, they didn’t alter the exterior during the recent renovation. It maintains its classic charm. However, the interior has been beautifully remodeled! I’m still not sure if they’ll add any finishing touches before reopening as a Ritz.

ah, i just checked their website. I think my room probably was the 1 King Bed, Diamond Head Ocean Front View. The Ocean Front View room probably are the rooms on the side directly facing the ocean (remember this hotel has a hexagon shape). I don't remember hearing any noise during the night!

Oh wow, your video brings back fond memories. I was there just a week ago for just a few days, feels like an eternity already. I really miss Singapore, I want to go back as soon as possible. The Andaz really is an incredible hotel. I was on the "pool platform" when some heavy rain started, that was real fun! :-)
