For the 6/8 and 4/4 section, the 8th notes align for all the instruments, so you can try to use the 8th notes for time, even if the downward don't match up. It takes 3 bars for the downbeats to line up, and one after is when it switches back. It's one of those things you have to feel, but learning how to feel the count structure by seeing what matches in the parts helps

I don't think it is wrong to play with a pick, no. I do think it is an advantage to know different techniques to play, because it opens up different sounds and nuances, but I'm sure you can have plenty of nuance playing with a pick too 👍 So don't worry, you do you !

That transition where the drums catch back up to the rest of the band after being in 6/8 is so tough to get the timing right on. I always come in too early

Sorry for the late reply ! As I said in the video, I don't really have a particular tip to help, unfortunately. Maybe you can more or less "ignore" the drums, as the time signature for the bass doesn't change ?

Once you reach the second chorus, it's pretty much the same thing that repeats again and again. Next time, you can try to train your ear by trying to learn new songs by ear !
