They’re Gamers Grass Tiny Tufts. I can’t remember which ones but all my tufts come from Gamers Grass these days!

Was really frustrated it wasn't available here for the pre booking bonus coin. It finally showed up but at the moment I can't even book it past the next few days. Hoping it'll be available next month for my birthday...

I painted this one in two parts. Easier to get to the inbetween bits, but some parts were still hard to reach.

Is this beginner friendly?? Do you thin your contrast paints? I've literally painted ONE model ever, it looks decent and table ready, but I love the box art for these guys and I'm overwhelmed by the number of paints used per model. I just feel like I'm gonna botch it.
@WarhipsterКүн бұрын
This one in some ways is very beginner friendly, the highlighting section on the white details would be quite tricky to do and the Dawnstone highlighting on the black might be a little hard especially on the flatter areas but because we don't do any highlights on the Orange for example, that makes it quite beginner friendly. Also no you should never thin contrast paints with water or use them on a wet palette or anything like this. The times I thin down my Contrast Paints are with Lahmian or Contrast Medium and I put the amounts in the video for example if you ever see something like 2:1 Contrast Medium:Black Templar that means 2 brush loads of Contrast Medium and 1 brush load of Black Templar mixed together on a dry palette. Hope that all makes sense!

@@Warhipster SUPER helpful. Just trying to take a lot of information in on the hobby. Will be going back and rewatching this video as well as your old stuff to get more ideas. Will you be doing one for the Aqulion by chance?

@Warhipster I came across your video, and it has been super helpful in helping me get started. However, I have a question regarding the brightness of green, I have followed your pattern here, prime in grey seer, then a layer of Karandras Green, and then a layer of Warp Lightning, however my miniatures are coming out quiet a bit darker than than what you have happening in your video. So I am just trying to work if is because your camera + lighting setup is intensifying the colour, or if I am still layering it a bit too thick. I do think that aspect has improved on my part as I am getting less pooling, thanks to your other video regarding how to use contrast paints, so I am just wanting to check if that combo of karandras and warp lightning actual comes out darker than what it appears as on your video, or if I am still doing something badly wrong?

holy crap man I have been STRUGGLING with streaking contrast paint (that is really only noticeable to... well me, my friends who I play warhammer with genuinely do not seem to see it lol) but this is so helpful, everything about the brush, brush type and keeping it on the model, thank you so much!

These look fantastic although some alternative skin tones would've been awesome to see too!! (I play the Farsight Enclaves and I don't think the orange-brownish chitin really works for them, would you have any suggestions as to what may go with the Red armour and weaponry?) Will absolutely be using your tutorial for one of my teams though - Cheers!

Blue or green is what I’d go with. Blue for the carapace and a dark purple/pink for the underbelly and wings, or green and tan.

@Warhipster how do you correct any mistakes on the bone colour armor? - Grey seer + seraphim sepia over it? I always find it difficult to correct such light coloured mistakes, without messing up the surface big time....
