Sub-assemblies? Where we’re going we don’t need sub-assemblies. Glorious.

Since the Spearhead disappointed me and didn't include a boss chariot, I'm still debating whether to convert one of these by adding the Avatars of War Grom the Paunch stand-in "Goblin King Krork" onto the chariot, or cave and buy a boss chariot for that purpose after the fact to do it and live with the fact that he won't see the tabletop. One thing is certain, though: I want Grom the Paunch to make a return, and I'll be coming back to this video numerous times while painting my own future goblin waaagh

A quick question, are you using your contrast paints right out of the pot, or is the paint on a wet pallet?
@Warhipster11 сағат бұрын
Contrast and Shades from the Pot unless specifically stated thinned down on screen with Contrast or Lahmian Medium. When I do thin any paint down it's on a dry palette. Never a wet palette!

Eldar were my first army back in 3rd edition so I will always feel nostalgia for the Biel-Tan color scheme as it was the one most often showcased at the time. It really annoys me that the craftworld was destroyed in the lore and now takes a backseat to Saim-Hann as the default color scheme.

This will work great for my nomadic waaagh wolfriders. One question: I’ve never seen you do zenital highlight after priming. Is that just personal preference or do you think the effect is overrated/detrimental?
@WarhipsterКүн бұрын
That’s a great question, I would use a 3rd word to describe it as Overused. In the example of these wolves, almost always the paws Belly and the lower legs are a brighter fur colour than the main body of the wolf and often for example in dogs and cats you’ll see white socks or paler hair around the feet, not always but it’s fairly common right? So if you were to zenithal prime here. The lower areas would be darker than the zenithal prime on top. So do you make the top of the wolf darker than the darker lower areas or do you use layer paints to brighten the lower areas. If you use an opaque paint to cover a zenithal prime, in my opinion you wasted your time doing two primer colours at the first time of asking. Every technique has its place but the crucial thing is to not get stuck in a cycle of using the same thing every time if it isn’t necessary especially when approaching something newer or different to what you’ve done before. It’s a bit of a stretch but if you started with Custodes and primed them all gold. You wouldn’t then start say a Sylvaneth army and prime them all gold because it wouldn’t be right for those models!

The box is verycool to be honest, I like the Gitmobs, they are Very fun to paint. I'm not playing (yet) though, so the pt value is not that important to me. But I'm not yet ready to put the money on the box. too many unpainted minis waiting already.

How do you prevent “coffee stain” paint lines when you’re wet or dry blending contrasts and shades?
