Do you have any tips and tricks for getting good at rolling 10ths?
@PiotrBarcz
@PiotrBarcz 11 сағат бұрын
My suggestion would be make sure your spreading your hand as wide as you can so you don't need to do a lot of sideways movement during the roll and then you pivot your hand just a little to actually break the chord. The idea is to try an reduce as much movement as possible to give your hand time to actually play the tenth as loud and strong as you need to. I should do a video on it at some point.

If you can get down that chromatic rip, you can learn how to operate in other keys. Think of how powerful you'll be once translating what you can do in C to other sound landscapes??

I've tried to play on the sharps so many times already, they're too narrow and too short, can't do it...
@union-whack
@union-whack 4 күн бұрын
@@PiotrBarcz It's just not true, don't let yourself cop out with excuses! You need to allow yourself the latitude to play in other keys while being bad at it, playing with lots'o mistakes and sounding terrible (which you're not & don't). To play extremely slowly and sound out what works. Eventually the other keys will become a favorite part of your toolkit regardless how impossible it seems now. Heck, you've alreadymade progress in G and F. Maybe try B flat next?
@PiotrBarcz
@PiotrBarcz 4 күн бұрын
@@union-whack I've tried but it literally hurts to play on the flats :( Like, it hurts mentally and physically and drives me crazy. I've accepted defeat, unless I get a Janko keyboard I won't play in keys that aren't naturals I don't think ever.... The topography makes it impossible for me to efficiently or energy effectively finger anything much less improvise. G is pretty easy apart from some weird inversions in fingering between E and F and B and C where the notes are flipped around in melodies. But F I can barely manage and the only way I do is by using G minor in place of B flat.

@PiotrBarcz 4 күн бұрын
Cameron's just a friend of like everyone in the ragtime circles and writes a ton of music xD I've known him since 2021 I think. I was his editor for a while before I taught him my methods so he could do the work himself. I've been posting a lot of his tunes because he doesn't get a lot of exposure in good quality so since that's my whole goal on the channel is to get underappreciated music out to a wider audience I started doing a lot of his stuff. Easy content too, Cam's written so much music that I can just download a bunch of his stuff and I have enough videos to schedule a whole month with 😂

@PiotrBarcz Gotcha ya! That's nice of you to help promote his music. I was just curious. I didn't know if he was a person who could scan rolls or what. So.... am I correct in thinking that since you have these files, you could make paper rolls on your perforator with them?
