Takes me back a bit. I used to be based in the cabin in Walton yard. There was more Coal trains than you shake a stick at.

Great video. I was a volunteer at the Buxton site in the 1980s. Peak Rail have come far since then.

I'm surprised at the various locations that supplied Fiddlers Ferry. What a difference nine years can make. Now, in 2020, coal traffic is non existent in the UK. Ellesmere Port traffic is all but gone. Fiddlers Ferry power station has closed down, with very little electricity now being generated by coal in the UK. The Unilever plant behind the station was scheduled to close, Covid19 changed that due to the increased demand for cleaning products. I visited Warrington BQ in early 2020 for a couple of hours, not one freight train to be seen.

We are so lucky on wcml the freight traffic that comes past at night is amazing. I'm abit further down at Winsford myself but get the same passing. Great video and thanks for putting the work in and sharing Bud. Rob
