I have one currently from my shin to my femur, because when i had my accident it was too swollen to fix properly. I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy

How hard is it to sleep with that fixator? How do you avoid getting infections where the rods go in? Thanks for sharing your experience. Hope the recovery is going well.

Hey Eric! Thanks for stopping by. To answer your questions: Yes, it was incredibly difficult sleeping with the fixator as well as getting dressed. I did, indeed, get infected at the pin sites but fortunately that was it and we treated it successfully. All in all the procedures, my 19 and 20th were successful. My curved bones were moved 15 degrees(yes it hurt) and my leg is now straight. My hip and back pain are gone. I am forever grateful to Dr Austin Fragomen and everyone at The LimbLengthening and Complex Reconstructive surgery at HSS.
