Why are those Yoke Velcro straps so short? There are these long strokes of Velcro on either side that are there to be used - but not in use because these straps are so ridiculous short. Specially if the person is 4 foot in length !

Why is there an uneven amount of molle loops? You can fit 3 mag pouches and still have one loop left over unusable, nothing can be centred, trash design 💀

Why is everyone ranting about this?
@wanbawmcgraw3045
@wanbawmcgraw3045 6 ай бұрын
@@andersonpaul1966 the main reason is it’s a waste of space, why have a left over molle loop when you can have either squeezed on another loop because British hard plates are huge or just cut it down to 6, some things need to be centred on a vest, if you want to put a camelback on it and wear a ruck then your out of luck since it will sway to one side, and the MoD cheaped out with this one I’m sure there were multitudes of other vests on the trials but they chose the cheapest possible option regardless of how good the other ones are. I hope this cleared it up but if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

@@wanbawmcgraw3045 Isn’t the problem that the ultimate solution for ground troops is big plates? With both the UK and US plate carriers running 7 and 8 columns of MOLLE respectively.. Is this more about soldiers wanting more mobility? We see speedy guys wearing JPC or CBAV with 8” plates, but isn’t that more about application? I also get that you want to be as balanced as possible, do the Virus camelback and ruck solutions not work with the STV? I’ve been using a battle belt and h yoke and wanted to migrate to the plate carrier and transfer my 3lt Ryder hydration.

 what most militaries have found is that you want the most protection without impeding movement much, the Americans have discovered how good the Sapi cut plates are, most are 10x12 which when in a plate carrier aren’t very restrictive, the British plates are I believe 13x14 give or take, so much bigger and where originally from the osprey armour system but we wherent the first to utilise that shape of plate, if my memory serves right it was the Americans in Vietnam with their scalable armour system ( I can’t remember the exact name) but they eventually switched to sapi cut after decades of testing and sampling, the British plates are a bit more scaled back than those but are still a bit too big for some people who are built smaller, and I don’t think we have sizes like the American plates do. The STV is sort of the perfect answer on paper to the problem of modularity for the MOD to have one armour system for all, because you can remove the soft armour and turn it into a plate carrier which is great but there isn’t any usable cummerbund to speak of, you can mount side plates but nothing else and are stuck with using a webbing belt, which I think is the army’s idea, to go back to webbing instead of all on the armour like the osprey system attempted and kind of worked but osprey was way to heavy and restrictive, I believe the virtus system is the answer but it needs some improvement like a cummerbund that will be functional with mounting pouches, but I suppose if the army wants to go back to webbing as the number one load carrying solution then it isn’t needed, just my thoughts and opinions on the matter. As for the second part to your question I believe all the virtus stuff works in conjunction with other virtus stuff but not all of the virtus equipment is great, from what I hear from those who have used the equipment it isn’t the greatest of quality some of it is useless and some of it is questionable, and quite a few soldiers buy some of their own equipment like small molle mounted backpacks and non virtus camelbacks and just because of the uneven molle it won’t work as intended which is a mild problem for comfort, and if your going to be getting shot at you want to atleast be as comfortable as you can be getting shot at.

For the 1st gen version. If the DWD is at the right position, it works great and really could help to "reduce" some weight, quite a useful one. And saved my waist on my last travel. The weight previously can't load, the last time was made with the Bergen and the DWD. HOWEVER, the bottom of the DWD easily flips out from the bottom latch of the webbing belt and needs to be re-attached, also if you take off and reload the bergen. If there is a buddy, would be easy for B2B. BUT if you're alone, it would be a difficult thing if you don't have a platform to relocate it since the bottom latch is small, and during the relocation process, the bergen weight would rely on your waist for a while. The 2nd way is even harder to take on & off. Very inconvenient while reloading & re-attaching the Bergen. The 2nd point is : The DWD would disturb the prone position & waist movement. They have the Gen 2 version, the Gen 2 version seems improved & redesigned the bottom latch, they've made it bigger and have a new design but I don't have that so can't test the Gen 2 version.

I am looking for a bladder for a go ruck pack. I see a 6year old video from go ruck saying do with the wide model with out a cap because its more versitle. Yet most reviews I am finding are using the one in the video with cap and more slender. Has there been any major changes in design in 6 years time? Advantages to the wide over the standard slim? I see go ruck stop selling the wide any ideas why?
@SourceTacticalGear
@SourceTacticalGear 3 жыл бұрын
The WXP bladder with screw cap is a good fit for hydration backpacks with a screw-cap opening (giving you access to the screw cap from the outside). Carrying the bladder in hydration compartments of Goruck-style backpacks, the screw-cap doesn't add much, and we recommend either WLPS or ILPS depending on the size of the compartment - or even our Kangaroo for canteen MOLLE pouches. Hope this helps, feel free to contact our customer service for any additional inquiries.
