Hello ate Leah! It's been quite a while na di ako naka check dito sa KZbin hehe. I hope you're doing well! And yes ate, it's inevitable din at times because it's up to the seller on how they pack it~ but I'm lucky I was able to save it! A huge almost specimen size turned into a small portion but what's important is that it survived! 🤗 it's started opening one of its 2 flowers~ excited to show them here soon! Also, I received the seller's replacement for this earlier this week and just I repotted it earlier this day~ it's in much better condition than last time! 💚 hopefully I'll get some blooms from this new one soon as well! The flowers are so cute! 💚 Will upload the unboxing of the replacement soon, and also the unboxing of my dendrobium haul! (I've got many Dendrobiums now, so I'll lay low from buying dendrobiums for a while! 🤣)

And this particular one in the video is doing great now, ate leah~ new roots are growing from the new growth and the new growth has gotten bigger! This is truly a fighter~ being sick, plus having a huge chunk of wound and being rootless and almost leafless, yet mananged to give a spike and a new growth at the same time... still amazes me! 😩💚

@@TheVerdantTurf that is so nice of the seller sending you a replacement. When I was just started collecting orchids I used to complain from sellers as well. I do buy orchids online only because we don’t have a plants/orchids nursery near us. And 7 years ago I had no idea where to get orchids yet, so I google searched and I am kinda successful finding some. Anyway to make the story short, I bought some. I didn’t know that it’s all plugs/seedlings. And some of them are so toasted dry when they arrived. So I contacted the seller and they sent me a replacement, but never ordered there again. I also bought orchids at eBay. Some of them are pretty good but some was so infested with mealybugs, and I found some slugs as well. Ai kaloka! And finally I found Carmela Orchids. I still buy Orchids in different online sellers every now and then… oh no haba n ng comment q nnmn. Oh sya… enjoy growing your babies. I hope they all grow vigorously. I think I will shoot a video lil later. We just fixed the shade cloth yesterday. Heheheh See you later!!!

Lumaki yung maliit na growth na kasama niya, pero di nag bloom, parang nag produce lang ng mas maliit na stem ulit sa itaas pero di naman keiki kasi wala naman ugat. tapos nirepot ko sya po actually. Tinanggal ko lahat ng leca/hydroton at mga bunot/coconut husk/chips kasi nako, nagka root rot/ root death sya dahil sa evaporative cooling ng Leca/hydroton, at yung biodegradable na nmedia especially bunot, nako nag attract ng super dami na fungus. kaya ayon rootless sya ng ilang months, na set back talaga kasi mas maliit yung pinaka bago na mature growth. Pero 1st new growth na nya saakin maliit man compared sa past growths ay I think mamumulaklak to soon hehe. and yung potting mix niya na ginamit dito sa video na to, charcoal nalang natira, mostly charcoal sya na may mix ng lava rocks na malilit sa taas and now Enobi's doing so much better root wise 💚 I hope maka share ako ng blooms soon! Planning to buy another nga sa gbo kase gusto ko marami nito dito kase angganda 🤗💚

Pero yes po, I recommend talaga na i rest muna sila for 1-2 weeks bago galawin if ever wala naman pong mga issues hehe. if may issue pg dating, you can do an emergency repot din po after niyo ma notify ang shop/seller na pinagbilhan po ninyo. Yung very first video ko dito na howeara lava burst po na nirepot ko upon receiving, namatay po 🤣🥲 di ko na naagapan nag slowly decline na sya and eventually nawala...

Hello po! a big NO po tayo dyan! 🤗 Ang mga bagong pot-up / repot na orchids ay never po dapat binibilad sa araw. Bright Indirect Light lang po, di po pwede na naka bilad sa araw kase masusunog po leaves nila and mamatay kasi di pa sila established. Kahit po mga mounted sa kahoy ay di rin po recommended yan. If want niyo sila maarawan po, pwede po ninyo silang ilagay sa lugar na naarawan sila ng 1-2 hours lang sa oras na 5-8 o'clock lang sa umaga, anything na direct sun na after ng 8 in the morning ay hindi na pwede sakanila. If duper established na po sila na kapit na kapit na yung ugat sa growing media sa pot or di kaya sa kahoy, pwede niyo po silang unti unti na i move sa mas brighter location in a span of months para ma prepare sila sa direct sun, pero mind you po na it is not recommended talaga kasi sa Dendrobiums, iba't ibang species and hybrids din po ang mga parents ng hybrids na nabibili natin and di po lahat ay puwede sa direct sun. Katulad ng Vanda, yung pwede lang sa direct sun ay ang mga Sun Vanda, Terete Leaf Vanda, Semi-Terete Leaf Vanda, Mokara, JVB, Velthius lang mga pwede sa direct sun. Ang Strap-Lead Vanda na mga malalaki bulaklak ay hindi po pwede sa direct sun and di po sila ma popropagate sa pamamagitan ng pag putol or topcut kasi iba sila. If may katanungan po kayo, mag comment lang po kayo dito para madagot ko po at makatulong ako 🤗💚

Painumin mo ng vitamins Jed. I used to own 5 different varieties of tulomnia. They grow fast actually. The only problem why I lost them is due to hypothermia, Lol. Hindi kinaya ang lamig, patay… I mount mine on a cedar wood. I made it bloom at least 3x. I feed them with CalMag and seaweed kelp every week. Well, calmag this week, seaweeds next week. Palitan lng ba. Try mo. But, do not follow the instructions. Use less so you don’t burn your orchids…

Hello Fernanda!! Hope you're doing good! It is actually mounted on a plastic mount (the one commonly used for tolumnias here) and yeah, i don't know what's the matter with it... I might just order a new one. The other one in the smaller pot in this video, yeah they both went bad already the bigges specimen is the only one left. Fingers crossed for this one. This is my favorite tolumnia and first ever tolumnia 😔

Thanks so much, Julie! This is an emergency buy since I needed to rescue my cymbidium now. I've actually just potted them up in pumice. Did some Semi Hydro thing going on in which i only poked a couple holes on the side of the pot so that there'll be a small reservoir of water. In that way, it can still provide some moisture and not dry out way too much since they're almost rootless. I can just poke new holes by the time when there are roots going. Hopinh for the best! Meron ako isa, pero not in good condition kase seedling ko nabili and nag suffer sya root rot kase sa Leca/Hydroton ko nilagay/ ang ginamit kong media. Pero ngayon nasa lava rock na sya and may 1 root na sya, i'm stil waiting if makaka bounce back sya. Pero soon po if magka phalaenopsis na ako at makapag alaga na ako ng iilang months, gagawa po ako ng video about sakanila. In the mean time po, sa mga susunod na upload ko ay tungkol sa Rescue/experiment ko sa Tolumnia at Cymbidium ko na di lumalaki or tumutubo ng mabuti kaya inilipat ko at pinalitan ng growing medium at area. Hello po! In regards to hugas, yes po! Before ko tanggalan ng roots, binababad ko muna sa tubig for 15-30 mins po para maging pliable/mapalambot yung bunot and maging flexible ng kaunti ang mga ugat para mas ma lessen ang too much damage sakanila. Before and After po matanggal lahat ng dead roots po, nag s-spray po ako ng Hydrogen Peroxide (Agua Oxinada) na 10 volumes or 3% po. Bali yung dapat niyo po bilhin is yung 10 volumes or 3% po, same lang po yan sila, pang gamit sa pag disinfect. Straight from the bottle na po ang pg gamit and no need to dilute na with water. I don't recommend using higher volumes or percentage of Hydrogen peroxide po kasi medyo delikado na sa plants. After po ma spray yung base and roots po ng orchids (If walang new growth ang orchid, pwede po buong orchid yung i spray ng hydrogen peroxide) make sure lang po na mag dry sila kaagad po. and once dry na po lahat around 30 mins - 1 hour, pwede niyo na po sila i pot kaagad, no need to wait for days po! 🤗 I also don't recommend na i-water sila after 6-9 days po after repotting para maiwasang mabulok. Wag din po muna i fertilize ang bagong repot na orchids for at least 1 month, pero okay lang mag dilig sakanila ng tubig na may rooting and growth hormone tulad ng ANAA or ang ginagamit ko palagi na HORMEX. Mga 1-1/2 month po na ganyan lang po muna ginagawa ko bale I water every 2 days lang with plain water since maulan, and once or twice a week nag wawater ako ng tubig na may HORMEX for atleast 1 1/2 month or kapag marami ng new roots ang tumutubo sa pot. If mahaba na ang mga active roots na bago sa pot and kapit na sa media, dun palang ako mag fe-fertilize gamit ang half dosage ng 30-10-10 Fertilizer once a week for 2 weeks, and the rest ay 20-20-20 balanced fertilizer na twice a week na half dosage din. If fully established na ang orchid ay yun lang ako mag s-spray ng bloom booster na full strength once a week for 2 weeks if want ko ma pa bloom, after ng twice na bloom booster, babalik ko lang siya sa 20-20-20 balanced fertilizer na half dosage 2 times a week. Namatay mga seedlings ko dendro at phals sayang. Siguro dahil napabayaan at nainitan din ng sobra dahil may aircon na malapit. Umuwi kasi ako sa amin sa Tarlac. Malusig naman sila nung umalis ako. If green parin po, it means moist pa po sya. Iwasan po ang pag overwater kasi nakaka bulok and patay pa po yung sobrang pag dilig kesa sa kinulang ng konti sa dilig 🤗 Hayaan niyo po kase next time na magka phals ako na di na seedling, gagawa ako ng repotting video ko and mag uupdate ako palagi if may mga bagong tubo na 🤗

Hello po! First time ko rin po mag alaga ng Tolumnia hehe. Advice ko po is that need nila bright indirect light. Yung pina ka bright na mabibigay niyo po na indirect, yung di po tumatama mismo sa dahon nila. Then Fertilize with blook booster po once a month, tas the rest of the month balanced fertilizer. And if naka adapt na po ng mabuti yung tolumnia or tama po yung environment and care na mabibigay niyo sakanila, sila na mismo mag bubulaklak kahit wala masyadong fertilizers hehe. Need din po nila enough water, pero dapat pag didilig po ay pag di po maulan o malamig, para mag dry sila ng tama. Kasi if di matuyo, mabilis mag rot yung new growths nila. For now po yan palang po payo ko hehe. If mapa bloom ko ulit to and yung ibang tolumnias ko, gagawa na po ako ng video about caring for them in the future 🤗💚

Just the other day may na unmount akong tolumnia ko na mas nauna ko pang nabili dito by 2 months i think, and malaki na sya and maraming new growts pero wala talagang new roots kaya nabahala ako. Tinanggal ko nalang sa mount at ni pot with lava rock, pumice stones and charcoal as medium. I edit ko yung video and upload dito soon, most probably english video. @@TheVerdantTurf I have tried different setup for my tolumnia like, I didn’t disturb them sa mini plastic pot and I attached them sa driftwood. Meron din, plastic hanging basket without any media and meron din sa mini plastic pot na may sphagnum moss. Sa setup ko na may sphagnum moss, twice sya nag-bloom at hindi na nasundan. Hehe Sa oncidium ko, never naman ako nagka problem, lagi silang may bloom. Kay tolumnia talaga ako nahihirapan. Hehe
