Off the top of my the OR is there to keep track of when the motion dector goes off as the circuit needs to check for motion and water but if water is on motion turns off. I can't fully remember my reasons for everything but I still have them written down in Onenote...Onenote is a godsend for wiring and what I am looking at while talking as I have to write it all down. That being said it's possible and likely the circuit I made can be done in a better or more streamlined way but this is just the route I found to get it done.

If the room is flooded, the door closes and I'm unable to open. Id like to have the doors open and close automatically, unless its flooded. if its flooded, id like to use the bottoms on the door. Edit: I fixed it. For those wondering, after some time and reexamining his comment about the stock wiring on the door, the stock wiring is needed. I would love it if you gave this game another shot. I just got it running on my Oracle VM (running Windows XP). Perhaps we can set up multiplayer. Some things to keep in mind: When you pull up your stats window you'll see a red cross icon on the top left corner. ALL level 1 classes have this. This indicates that you have skill points to allocate. ALL non-mage characters desperately need to up their accuracy at the beginning, because (as you've experienced) you don't have enough mana to kill things with magic. By the end of the video, I noticed you still have not allocated your starting stat points. You will level up SO much faster and easier once you do, I promise. The Mrem class in particular is a bit of a berserker class. They have faster movement speed than the others, and far higher Dexterity (great for bows, possibly spears, though I'm unsure why their signature weapon seems to be an axe - possibly for crits). The way equipment works is that it increases your stats by a percentage of the character's base, making your skill/stat point allocation (they are one and the same) crucial. Each class has their own bonuses to certain stats. Mrem's seem to favor Dexterity and Accuracy in my experience, yielding 7 points and 5 points per stat point respectively (4 for strength and defense and 6 for Body Points). This is good to keep in mind, as some weapons/armor can only be equipped if you have a certain amount of points, in certain stats. Once your accuracy is up, non mages seem to put mages to shame (not counting Mentors). IIRC: The Classes can be described compared as follows: Mentors are kind of your buff/debuffers of the mages. Earth Mages are your healers Fire Mages are your AOE bursters Air Mages are your longer range Single Target bursters (The elemental mages differences from each other are negligible and can all serve the same role) Reavers are your Rogues/Assassins/Thief/Rangers (They use POWER magic, like Mentors) Paladins are... well... Paladins, front liners that can self sustain. (They use AIR magic) Knights are your Fighters (think old school d&d) (They use EARTH magic) Mrems are your Berserker/Archers. (They use FIRE magic) Magic is important because each class can hold a certain number of spells at level one, and takes a grueling amount of points to enhance further (not worth doing - unless maybe as a mage). Mrem's don't want to use fire gems to learn fire spells unless the spells enhance their stats in some way (such as Berserk - see? Berserker) Also, I noticed that you stopped scrolling through faces at the first animal face you found. There are a handful more after the one you selected. I personally use the white tiger for my Mrem. P.S. There seems to be a bug in the game where you can (at level 1) allocate more points than what you actually have towards your stats. Doing so puts you in "negative levels" however, so you won't get any more stat/skill points until you level up an ungodly amount. You can also use the Server app to add custom weapons/items to the game, and then use the MapMaker to drop the items onto the map for your character to pick up (requires restarting the game to load). You can also use the mapmaker to make certain tiles take you to other maps that you've given up on trying to find. Meaning, its totally possible to say... skip to final boss at level 1 with end game stats and custom gear, not to mention, gradually create your own worlds and connect it to the existing game.

@ I finally got the game working about an hour after my last comment. There is a problem. Issuing commands from the terminal is too slow. For all usecases shown, "terminal-less" sollutions would be much more fast and relaible: - Fuel level should be just shown on display permanently (and attached to alarm for signaling "fuel low" situations); - Airlock could be triggered via motion detector; - Fixfoam grenades better to be attached to "emergency" lever (and to water detector(s) - to be used only if high pressure - i.e. "hull breached" situation - detected) I'd use terminal more as reporting system (for complex messages, too long for displays and color lamps - like combined device state reports: "comand post - electric devices need repair", "engine critical", "hull breached: ballast 1, gunnery", "intruders: deck 1"), or for tasks which too dangerous to assign on buttons and levers - like self destruct charges activation (i know some ppls who used such contraption for some mistery reasons) Still. Interesting approach to idea.

I 100% agree all these can be done in a much cleaner way that is automated. I personally did all of your points on the ship I was playing with friends on. I started looking into the terminal because I found it odd there was no real use for it by default. From an RP method I like the idea that the mechanic or someone can be on different terminals to check things while staying in their spot. You could have a screen in each room to show all this but the terminal is just cool and fun to use. The best solution I found for this may be this video. It is not a long chain of commands you do and more or less just shows you the information on the terminal or in the chat. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXjce4ahh5uga7c

There is an edge case. Let's say you got a 8kw reactor and you are idling at 1000kw. Then suddenly need 8000kw load. With 4 Fulgrium rods the fission rate doesn't need to move a lot but the turbine needs to go from 12,5% to 100%. Thing is the fission rate will be set before the turbine did spin up enough. The Reactor overheats. Usually that's not a problem with vanilla subs but I wanted to point it out. With one uranium fuel rod the fission rate kinda climbs at the same speed as the turbine can spin itself up. If you have more than fuel_out 80 then you would kinda need to delay the speed at which the fission rate can climb. I'm thinking about an oscilator and memory modules that remember the last value and based on the fuel_out/80 ratio reduce the climb or descendrate. Maybe I overthink this.

i only found out about regex when i played barotrauma, so it was a bit of a discovery for me too. on the barotraumas wiki there are actually links to some tutorials on it. it does seem like a pretty powerful tool. the configuration that you use here will output on temperatures from 1 to 4999, which is an error original author made, since it supposed to keep it at 4000, not 5000. also greater-than is entirely redundant. with that in mind, the result is pretty economical since it requires only 1 component and works fairly well, which might be useful for early stages of the campaign.

Found this through the post on abandonware. Still have the disk in my desk drawer and the game came with one of the books from the novel series, which I actually read. Played this on the family computer quite a while after playing Diablo, so it was a considerable step down. I think both I and my brother who played it both started with Mrem as well as it seemed like the most interesting choice. Neither of us ever actually managed to get anywhere in terms of the story or quests, and I think we couldn't even get the game to equip a weapon. It seemed to just be mostly broken. Many of the quests were locked behind character level but we never seemed to be able to level the character up. I know there was an exploit we both used in an attempt to level up, where there are some high level buffalo looking creatures south(?) of the main town. If you went outside the walls but stayed in the town area, you still had that broken sword icon in the upper-left which meant it was a non-hostile area that attacking wasn't allowed in. However, you could still cast Burn on the enemies and stand around waiting for your mana to regen. It took so long to actually accomplish anything that I don't even remember if this allowed us to progress or not. I was always of the believe that the Room of Doom was either a high-level bonus dungeon for later, or just a troll room.

On my reddit post about the game someone did say they found a weapon vendor. I dont believe they said where but it was sort of hinted at by them that I should actually read the game manual and that is a good idea as games used to put important stuff in there for story and context. I have not went back to the game as I hoped I would but I do want to give it another earnest shot to try and figure it out but the game just feels like it was wanting to be a proof of concept of what could be done with the tools of the game but the tools were not used to make a full fleshed out game in of itself. If I go back I think I should play more of a melee class with 0 magic if that is doable as the magic just didnt feel good to use and I could not tell what was actually working for me. It's good to see someone else actually played this game back when it was newer and had the same general experience I had and it was not just a sign that the game was just out of my reach of learning lol

I also remember very vividly having the same experience in melee combat of never being able to hit an enemy, my health never dropping from 100% except to die in one hit, and having no idea if gear had any kind of effect whatsoever. I also had a similar mind of wanting to go back to this game at some point and trying to determine if it was actually functionally broken or not. Considering there were a number of NPC dialogue boxes that had text cut off mid-sentence and at least one that consistently crashed the game upon initiating (for us), I think we just assumed the game was programmed wrong, though we never made any attempt to use the update service. Looking at the manual insert in the game's jewel case, there is one mention of "strongly recommended to read the electronic manual included with the game (start/programs/shattered light/help)" which I think we did because I specifically remember mention of the Mrem being unrivaled in unarmed combat due to their claws, and that's not in the booklet's description of them. Other than that, the only other information in the booklet regarding the possibility of weapon vendors might be in the section regarding Guild Halls and Households, where it instructs you on how to join one of the six families in Terris. These are apparently the buildings with rainbow locked doors and you have to click the obelisks near them to join, but you can only be a member of one at a time. There is also a line about "8 clues per quest which are not immediately activated." There is a 20% chance each time you speak with an NPC that they will give you one of these clues when you are on a quest, and I definitely don't remember anything like this happening in the game when I played it. The manual does not seem to be on any of the various online preservation sites, so I could probably scan this and upload it at some point, but I'm not sure if I want to attempt installing it or looking through the CD for the mentioned electronic manual... especially since I haven't owned an optical drive for about a decade now.

I still have the game installed so I can put up the digital version and I have the booklet in the box so I can put it up somewhere if it's not anywhere else (but I dont have a scanner so yours would be better quality) but I imagine that it's somewhere online even if videos of the game were not. Ooo guilde halls make sense. After a while in-game I got tired of talking to people and went to try and brute force killing so I didnt actually talk to people north/north east of the main town so odds are those were the guilds if I recall the flag colors.@@VulpeRenard

Great review. Word needs to get out so major gaming companies can stop ripping consumers off.

Thank you. I do think this is the most egregious disconnect from marketing to final product from a AAA studio in a while. Not since No Man's Sky has it been this bad. Even Cyberpunk wasn't as bad imo

Ya UI is bad, exploring is nonexistent and pointless Rpg mechanics are implemented terribly But the biggest thing for me…… Is the game is just boring I didn’t wanna hear the dialogue I didn’t wanna do any missions Everything is so drawn out I told myself “I’m not having any fun” So I installed fucking Mass Effect Andromeda and Outer Worlds just to get a better experience

I should try those two out but I've just been into WoW HC recently. and I fully agree the dialogue is terrible. None of it was really that interesting and I suspect the way they tell the story with just zooming on character faces does not help. Cyberpunk does such a better job at telling their story with better scenes and you can feel the emotion.

Mod life support should not be a standard in gaming but it should be a nice extra. That doesn't mean that the game can release without STANDARD implementations that we pay full price for for modders to supply with...

I agree on this. The issue with this game is they took all the wrong lessons that Skyrim should have taught them. Skyrim has a massive community and has lasted a long time and they DIDNT build the game to be that way. They built Starfield to be an always/forever game for mods and such but then made a trash game built around that dream. They should have just made a good game and either thought of mods after or just make a good game and open all the tools for mods. They tried to have their cake and eat it to, for what they thought would be the best but failed across all acounts.

"For this being an RPG.." Stop. Just stop. Starfield is less of an RPG than Madden Superstar mode.

It's still a full RPG, its just a bad one where the choices truly do not matter.

This game needs more help than any other of their games. Mods cannot make the core of Starfield good as it's built on a seemingly old engine that cannot do what they wanted. Lifeless game and space sucks because there is nothing there. I thought I would be flying around space and stealing ships but you try that and the entire nation gets called in out of no where to help. Even if mods help some of these issues I will not be going back to a bad game to mod it to make it slightly better

Starfield makes Fallout 4 look like New Vegas. "Mid" is a compliment to Starfield. Bethesda is done.

I think Starfield will be the same story as Cyberpunk. People will love hate it and then after a year or so it will get better and people will forget the shitshow. There is just enough of what the game has now that people are willing to accept the shitshow. Also I added a bit more to my review on the official video I added if you happen to want to see that. My mic sounds worse than usual on the added part at the end however.

There is a chance as that is the only place I've ever seen this issue but the Key is also more busy than most space ports.
