Thank you Ven. Tenzin Chokyi for the fantastic talk! It was extremely useful for me. I do have a few questions that I hope you could possibly address. Towards the end of the talk, you mentioned that forgiveness requires the other party confessing to the consequences of their actions. I also find that the steps recommended are often applicable only when the action was already over. However, for my situation, I am having a lot of difficulty releasing my anger and resentment towards society at large. In Singapore, there continues to be a rampant outspoken discrimination against the LGBTQ population, and being a member of the population I find it very difficult to come to terms about this and forgive others for it. And the discrimination is ongoing and often there is no confession on the part of the other party, who continues to deem their actions to be the right one and continues to implement policies and take forms of oppressive actions against people of our community. I also find myself having difficulty differentiating how much of what I am feeling to be "anger & resentment" and how much of it is "righteous indignation". What would your advice be for me? My primary goal is allow myself to find peace of mind amidst the ongoing environment and minimize the magnitude of my reaction to such injustice.

J Sangye Hi. You’re in a very hard situation. If I may offer some thoughts, as a practicing Buddhist... There is no “righteous” anger. Anger is result of attachment and aversion. Our anger, our problem, our suffering. We suffer because we want the world to be the way we want it, i.e. just. We want a just world. But it’s not. The sooner we accept that the sooner we stop suffering. The more you want from someone (our society), the more powerless we are. When we stop wanting we get our power back. When you can stop being upset you’ll have more power. You can help others cope because you don’t have anger in your heart. You can still work to change society and make tings better for everyone, but find a way to do that without holding on to anger and losing your power. We are in samsara. The world will always be unjust and evil. But if we can free ourselves from aversion we might be a bit happier and alleviate the suffering of others. You’ll be in my thoughts.

He's so profound yet doesn't see himself for the teacher he is innately. May he continue to grow and evolve and practice and share modern Buddhism with us forever. Loved Lama Yeshe too ❤️

Yes, Osel, of course the Universe does (is) Love. And of course we see it as a feeling, else we couldn't be nondual. Stop thinking and feel it. Rely on your ability as a human being to be able to ascribe valid mind to determine what your experience is, not be the experience. Go for it, Baby. Trust that millions of years of you in the making.
